The Holy Land Experience in Orlando Florida

I am wanting a view point of how long it takes to tour. How many hours to enjoy a weekday tour? Are the hours extended in July beyond 6pm?

I have never been but do know a few who have and they really enjoyed it. Sorry I can't answer specific questions but should be a wonderful time.

We spent nearly 5 hours during a visit in the Fall which was enough to see the models, replicas, exhibits, take in a couple of shows, briefly browse the shops, and with some time to let the kids work off some energy. It's not very big so it is easy to go end to end pretty quickly to see the things there is to see. The number of shows you do is what would really determine your time. Be sure to factor in the museum quality Scriptorium which takes an hour by itself. It's on timed entry (so there may be a wait as well) and automatically narrated as you move through the rooms with your group. It's very well done. The Christus Gardens wax exhibit was also impressive I thought and the shows we saw were good. If I had not had the kids with me and the weather was nicer, I'm sure I would have spent more time by more carefully planning and taking in more shows. I think their regular hours of admission 10-6 are sufficient. If you go to their website you can see the daily schedule to get an idea about the shows, their length, and how much of that time you think you might spend.

By the way, they happen to be dedicating the Church of All Nations today which is the large, circular, coliseum looking building you can see from the highway.

The Holy Land Experience should take you about 3-5 hours depending on crowds and the amount of time it takes you personally to go thru the exhibits. If you are looking for hotels, the closest ones are by Universal Studios, which would be roughly 2 miles from the Holy Land.

Look for ones on Vineland Road, Major Blvd, or Kirkman Road.

About a half day total from what I remember.

We went quite a number of years ago and they may have added some items since then, but I think we were done in about four to five hours.

First, there is no "Historical information". It is a wonderful story that has been brought to life by the deep pockets of Trinity Broadcasting. Actually, their viewers.

For people that wish to retain the integrity and truth of biblical times. There were an awful lot of white folks during those days. Except for the token black singer. The environment felt bigoted. It starts out innocent enough. A typical Orlando attraction. But it becomes cult like very fast. By the time you leave they will have squeezed you for every dollar you had. And, tried their best to convert you to... Something. From the gaudy cheep trinkets, overpriced and bland food, to the feeling that you are trapped. I can't really comment about their shows, if you like that sort of cheesy stuff. I found that it got a bit repetitive. The same old same old as you went from place to place. The Passion was just ridiculous, and over produced. A total mind screw. It is way too hot in Florida to be subjected to such stagnation. Also, be prepared to stay right where you were sitting. YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED to leave any of the shows once they have started. You will find that there is a staff member withing arms reach. On guard, preventing you from leaving. With convincing lines like, "don't leave now, this is the best part." Or, "you will miss out on the blessing".

Give me a break, I needed to go to the ridiculous bathroom. That being another story. I have to be honest. They know if you walk out. You won't come back. It is a dirty tactic, when religious guilt won't hold you in your seat. There are wonderful churches all over Orlando and you can visit for FREE. I have never see so many deers in front of the headlights as I have looking at their staff.

Don't give your money to these people. Give it to the homeless or better yet pay your electric bill. If you came to Orlando to have a fun or even a spiritually good time. Holy Land Experience is not it. For those that found it a great place to visit. I watched many of you, while I was there, so happy to be so close to Jesus. All I can say is, I am glad I did not bring my children.

I am thinking that I probably should continue to skip this attraction.
