Soooo sad I thought I would go to Holy Land Experience after we “returned to normal what ever that is”. I was heart broken to read that the property has been sold and new owners plan to redevelop the land. So glad I was able to at least see it from the outside.
If you are in search of other Christian based places to strengthen or renew your faith, a place for miracles, and very interesting artifacts, might I suggest Biblewalk in Mansfield, Ohio. It is a non denominational - meaning everyone is welcome - museum that is amazing!!! There are 6 museums, display areas, Dinner Theater, and many, many, many collections of artwork dedicated to God. Lots to do in the area but plan on spending a full day there. It is a truly special place!!! Check it out!

We traveled here in 2019 and I was awestruck by the place. We are visiting again this month. The intention to detail is incredible. While it isn't completely "authentic" (you can't have animals roaming the streets for example), you still get a wonderful feel for the biblical era Holy Land. Imagine if Disney created a Bible park and the detail that would be put into it. You will find much of that here.
The shows can be quite immersive. In the main theater we encountered the story of Jesus saving the woman from being stoned. Using the guide provided by the park, we then went to another theater which "followed" here to her home where she told others what had happened. It was just an incredible experience. The fact that we'd moved to a completely different environment to see what happened next really helped it come to life.
The Scriptorium is something to be savored. The artifacts inside are amazing and I feel very blessed to be able to see such pieces of history.
There's lots more to see and some great photo ops! I have over 50 photos spread across two posts on my website at curiousandcozy.com. There's also activities to do with your family, dining, and fun shopping too!
With anything, it is what you make of it. If you're looking for a religious experience, you can definitely find it at The Holy Land Experience.

The venue is closed for unknown reasons and doesn’t even provide information about opening/closing. The tourists arrive there based on Google opening hour of 10 AM, wait there in front of the locked gate and leave. Even the parking lot was inaccessible.
All the theme parks in Orlando are open during COVID except this one. Looks like religious discrimination to me.

They present shows that bring Bible stories to life. The actors are excellent. The food selection could be better. You could spend most of the day here with the schedule of performances spread out during the day.

The set & costumes are very professional & the cast were fabulous. You go to various shows around the site. Story is clear, singing is fabulous. Can be a bit challenging to get to all the shows (we missed a couple). The main shows (there are 3) are must-see & thrilling. Think Biblical Broadway.
Very reasonably priced compared to the other Orlando parks. Parking is $10 for the day
Also since we were busy, we regret we didn't get real lunch at thee restaurant. Made do with snacks

This experience was the highlight of our recent trip to Orlando! It was so unexpected! The music and the message were outstanding. It was great to follow the Biblical characters from one show to the next. We were sorry to learn that this 'experience' will be shutting its doors in April for good. I wish there was more I could do to keep it open for others to see. So worth the trip!

We went to The Holy Land Experience on a Friday in February 2020. It was a WOW day full of live Biblical musicals. We can't believe it was only $50! The cast, costumes, sets, and music is Disney quality. It was so meaningful and inspirational! We felt like we were right there in Bible times..it made the Bible come alive for us! We have told so many people since then that it is an Orlando must-do!!!!

Wasn't sure what to expect but I was blown away. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and the buildings are Disney quality. The shows, music, singers, drama were up to par with Disney and Sight and Sound. We were spellbound with each show and admired how different faiths were respected i.e. Jewish, Catholic and Christian. The Scriptorium is not to be missed. Fabulous presentation of the history of the Bible and collection of old Bibles. Since shows are timed like they are at Sea World, Busch Gardens etc. I recommend getting there when it opens to take advantage of the times. We missed a few because we arrived at 11:30. Not a great place for very small children. There is a small play yard designed specially for the little ones but I think they would be bored in the shows. The shows can also be a little intense for younger ones. This is a full day experience so plan on eating lunch there. Don't miss this wonderful experience!

Forget the theme parks! Bring your family here! Beautiful way to spend a day with family and/or friends. Compact and well laid out, and beautifully adorned with botanicals. The very talented actors brought the Bible message to life. Arrived at 9:30 on Tuesday. Easy to get to and easy to park. Had to leave by 3pm. We were sorry to miss the third part to a three part presentation and a tour of the Scriptorium! Would love to go back. Guides were amazing and helpful.

Twenty seven actors played out a three part piece of persecuted Christians in Rome. Scriptoria gave a history of the bible as we know it. Wilderness tabernacle was re-enacted. Raising of Lazarus was re-enacted. A scale model of Jerusalem in 66 CE was described. Cost $10 to park in addition to the $50 to get in. ($40 active Military).

When will it reopen

This is something I've been watching carefully because we love Holy Land. TBN recently sold half of the Holy Land property to Advent Health. The area the company retained (to my understanding) includes the Scriptorium, but not all of the structures of the original Holy Land. There has been talk of a reopening of the Scriptorium with a few other attractions, but they have not released an opening date at this time. They closed at the beginning of the Covid pandemic, opened for 2 days to meet tax requirements without any of the live shows, then have closed since. The people I've spoken to assured me that the intention is to reopen "part" of the park with the Scriptorium, but at this time there is no date or details as to what else will be included when they do

No, I don't believe this is a venue for any kind of alchohol.
Are there any air condition building? What about people who have disabilities what accommodations are available?

The buildings are air conditioned. I have a scooter and I got around extremely easily. With a scooter or wheelchair, there is special seating and the staff is very accommodating. Much easier to get around here than at Disney!

Yes, I noticed that many people used them. In fact, I was very annoyed by someone who was holding their camera up and it was impeding my view.so yes,you may bring a video camera, but try to be thoughtful to others.
