After signing an overall deal with Netflix for a reported $300 million, super-producer Ryan Murphy wasted no time lining up a hyped-up content slate.

The Politician, which stars Ben Platt as a single-minded candidate for student body president, came first, debuting last fall. Then came news of Ratched, a show inspired by the villainous nurse in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest; filming for that one started earlier this year. And now, there's Hollywood.

Here's what we know about Ryan Murphy's latest series for Netflix.

The first trailer has finally landed.

This preview (above) finally gives viewers a hint about the show's plot; previously, aside from promises that it would follow a group of people trying to make it in Golden Age Tinseltown, Hollywood's narrative was a bit of a mystery.

It'll be set in the golden age of—you guessed it—Hollywood.

Murphy described Hollywood to Deadline as "a love letter to the golden age of Tinseltown."

It sounds like it'll offer a unique take on the era, though. Janet Mock, a writer and director for Hollywood, has said to expect a revisionist take on entertainment industry history. "With the present so fraught and the future uncertain, we turned to the past for direction, uncovering buried history to spin an aspirational tale of what ifs," Mock said, per Indiewire.

"What if a band of outsiders were given a chance to tell their own story? What if the person with greenlight power was a woman? The screenwriter a black man? What if the heroine was a woman of color? The matinee idol openly gay? And what if they were all invited into the room where the decisions are made, entering fully and unapologetically themselves to leave victorious and vaunted, their place in history cemented."

The cast is stacked.

Darren Criss, known for his work on Murphy's Glee and American Crime Story: Versace, has signed on as one of the show's three leads. The other two will be taken on by Jeremy Pope, who Deadline believes will play an aspiring screenwriter named Archie, and David Corenswet, who'll take on a yet-to-be-announced role.

Legendary stars Patti LuPone and Holland Taylor are also set to appear in Hollywood.

Netflix has revealed a first look at the show.
