1982年复旦大学本科毕业；1981年参加南开大学社会学班培训；1991年斯坦福大学社会学博士毕业。周雪光长期从事组织社会学和社会分层领域的研究工作，其研究工作发表在《美国社会学评论》、《美国社会学杂志》、《行政科学季刊》、《组织科学》、《比较政治研究》等刊物上。 [1]
