Mount Evans Scenic Byway Denver Great Day Trip out of Denver, CO The road to the summit of Mount Evans is the highest paved auto road in North America (cost is 10$ a car), climbing to 14,260 feet above sea level.
I am prone to altitude sickness, so I had to stop at the tree line for 15-20 minutes to acclimate luckily there is a visitor center there with history of the trees and some trails to explore.

The cathedral is within walking distance of the mall and is just a block or so up the street from the state capitol building (another beautiful, architectural gem and historic landmark).
From the moment you walk in your mouth is wide open in awe at it's beauty.

Our tour guide, Steve, was very knowledgeable and had all kinds of information and interesting facts about the Broncos and the stadium to keep us engaged throughout the 90 minute tour.
We may have lost the game that day but we had a wonderful time with my son watching the game, great stadium and fantastic fans that can make a bunch of noise!

The 16th Street Mall is a fun way to explore some great shopping and delicious restaurants and attractions, all while taking advantage of free shuttle buses.
We spent two nights in Denver, and strolled along this mall quite a bit while we were there it's fun with the outdoor pianos, the beautiful flowers, and lots of stores and restaurants.
