We had a great lunch experience here. There is a sign on the door warning customers that food will take at least 30 minutes when they are busy. It was accurate!! But at least with the warning, we knew what to expect. They have a...good menu of meal choices and a nice beer offering, Our server was very nice, the food was delicious and the prices were very reasonable. A good choice if you are not in a big hurry.More

We could tell this brewery is quite popular from the large amount of seating and cars parked around it. They have lots of outdoor patio seating and even had a small stage with a band playing while we were there. They were currently out of...almost all their mainstay beers due to a glycol chiller that was needing to be replaced so they had a large number of guest beers on tap. Fortunately, they let me choose from anything on tap when choosing beers for my sampler. I was able to try five 4 ounce beers for $6 which was a good deal, and a way to help you decide on your favorite. My wife chose a moscato wine from the dozen they had on the menu and was very pleased with it.More

The beer was at best average. Seemed flat. The service was prompt. The burgers were supposed to be medium but came very well done - dry and a disservice to the supposed local beef. The burger I ordered was supposed to have a pretzel bun...but came with a wimpy regular bun with explanation of “sorry we are out, can I get you a different bread.” 3 beers and two burgers for $50 didn’t get very much. I think we would have better served going to McDonalds.More

Were passing through town on our way down to Durango. The best thing I can say is we were seated promptly On a Friday night and the place was not busy at all there seemed to be adequate staff. After that it was all downhill...the beer was so so am I am a lover of craft beer. The waitress took our order and then promptly disappeared for quite some time the bartender had to take over. We ordered the brisket sandwiches thinking it would be delicious, The meat was so tough it's stretched like a rubber band. After sending those sandwiches back which they were happy to Get a something else I ordered the mushroom Swiss Burger She ordered the wings. This 2nd order took an immense amount of time. And still waitress had not appeared. After our drinks ran dry with no one asking us to get refills we finally were able to obtain another beer and a mule which ended up being the wrong flavor that was ordered. Her wings were decent she said, my Burger was well well done almost not even worth eating. Our waitress finally appeared to provide us with a check they did not have any problem in in removing the initial food purchase. The ambience of this place is awesome. The service and the food is extremely lacking in our case. Wait The sweet potato fries were actually pretty good.More

Wife got a Cobb salad which came out of a bag according to one of the waitresses or runner (?). Radicchio greens were badly wilted and inedible. I was going to order their "sandwich of the month" which was sausage, but was actually just a...hot dog. A hot dog is not a sausage sandwich. The waiter was asking every table he served if he could bring the bill early since his shift was ending. Generally, I am OK with that, but he never came by and asked if we needed anything else like a second beer.More

My wife and I were at the KOA in Montrose and this place was recommended to us. We placed an order for take out at 3:26 PM. I took a seat and waited. Five employees asked me if they could start a drink order for...me. I explained I was waiting for a to go order so they walked away. The sixth employee asked about a drink and when I told her what I was waiting for she said she would check. She returned and said they were bagging it up. Approximately 10 minutes later she checked again and was told they were bagging it. It was almost ten minutes later when I finally got the order at 4:11 PM. The outside temp was 94 degrees, which was warmer than the food. The food was good but not worth the wait and would have been better if it had been hot. They had plenty of employees so that should not have been an issue. Will not go back.More

We were looking for outside dining on a Saturday night at about 5:30, and came across Horsefly Brewing, which appeared to be the only game in town at the time. Although busy, we were seated outside almost immediately. Tables were spaced far enough apart for...us to feel comfortable and safe and face coverings were being worn by staff and guests until they were seated. Staff was friendly, courteous and attentive. I enjoyed the local brew. The 50/50 burgers, jalapeño poppers and cheese steak satisfied our taste buds and hunger pains. In fact, everything was good enough that we had no problem going back there again the following day for lunch, where we had basically the same experience, although with different menu selections. (Nachos, Chicken Wrap, Chicken Sandwich) And if we're ever in Montrose again, we'll be sure to stop in to eat.More

He wanted to eat here because they serve beer. Street parking as the small lot was full. Live music on the covered patio and lots of local folk. We skipped patio and covered patio seating for inside the restaurant. The server was a sweet young...man, very polite. Their menus are newspaper which was cool. And beer cans all over on shelves. Interesting history in beer cans. Also a wall of beer steins. Unique designs. They had decorated for Halloween and had an inflatable and a skeleton on a bar stool. Two bar stools were decor with a horse’s behind and a dancer’s legs. Funny. That’s where the interesting stops. I ordered the fried fish platter with beer battered rock fish, coleslaw and fries. He chose traditional wings in classic Buffalo sauce and a side of Mac and cheese. I didn’t realize the fish would be fried rock hard and tasteless. Fries were meh. His wings were tasteless as well. And the max and cheese gooey and tasteless. His IPA wasn’t to his liking. My raspberry mule was average. Only thing I liked. So my recommendation is not to eat here. Maybe come for the atmosphere or music but not the food. You can watch games here so there’s that. Just eat first. The two stars are for the service. Which, while not first rate, was polite and oh so sweet.More

Had a great meal while traveling and staying in town. Ate outside which was nice but as it cooled off we wish we were closer to one of the heaters ( they could use a few more). Service was quick to get food but slow...to be a bill and leave.More

My wife, another friend and I were all on a canceled flight and found Horsefly. I hope to always find a great restaurant like Horsefly Brewing if I have delayed/canceled flight! Our friend had wings which he enjoyed immensely. My wife had a veggie burger...and it was very good. I had the black and blue burger which was also very good. I also had a Double Pale Ale which was perfect for this dinner. We have friends who live in the Montrose area and they also confirmed that the Horsefly is one of the best in Montrose. Check out the bar stools! Our server was friendly, attentive, fun and clearly enjoyed working at the Horsefly. Altogether, an great experience!More

Returned here from 2 yrs. ago: wings were big and meaty & parmesan garlic was yummy (10 out of 12 were drumettes); I did order smoked, but believe I got regular. Be nice if they were a bit more tender. Bavarian burger was very good;...beer cheese soup was great. Also got 2 growlers: one grapefruit hefe and one razzy. Man, the grapefruit hefe was smooth, subtle. EXCELLENT.More

Ordered a burger. It should have been really good. But it wasn't. It was ruined by the choice of bun. They used a sweet bun, like a breakfast or dessert bun. Did not mesh with the burger, cheese and onions at all. Fries were good,...but a little greasy. They seem to put some kind of batter on them? I wanted to order a drink while we waited....and waited for our order but no one ever came over to ask.More
