My husband and I stayed 2 nights at Rimrock to celebrate our wedding anniversary. A quick drive from Calgary, the hotel is located up the hill from town, close proximity to the Banff Hot Springs & Sulphur Mountain Gondola. The Rimrock provides guests with bus tickets to use during your stay so you can leave your vehicle parked in the warmth of the underground parking. The Roam bus runs every 45 minutes & conveniently picks you up right at the entrance to the hotel. There are several stops in town that have an electronic indicator when the next bus will arrive (real time) as well the hotel will give you a schedule. There are hiking trails right outside the property, so we took advantage of the nice weather to go down past the Banff Springs Hotel to the Bow River Falls trail, which leads you to downtown Banff. It's also a short walk to the springs & gondola, which is convenient when they are open. The hotel has many changes in place since our last visit, due to the pandemic. These include shields at the front desk, place markers on the floor to indicate physical distancing, removal of some snacks in the cafe, limited hours of restaurants & spa, as well as the closure of the pool/hot tub facilities. While we were very disappointed about the closure of the pool/hot tub, I will not reduce my rating of the property because of government restrictions that have been put in place - it's still a beautiful property & the staff are friendly & helpful. A this time, masks are required everywhere (indoors & outside) in Banff, unless you are eating/drinking. We received a nice bakery item & card from the general manager Trevor Long (thanks!) for our anniversary, that was a nice touch. Breakfast at the Primrose was included in our stay - it was absolutely delicious and always includes a fantastic view from your table at the window! Dinner at the Larspur Lounge was really good & we took advantage as well of the happy hour pricing. Our room was comfortable and quiet as always & room service is also available. We will continue to return to Rimrock Resort Hotel - in fact we'll be back in January!…
A first timer. A beautiful setting. Soo quiet and natural. It shows the best of Banff. Went for a room with a view and definitely was not disappointed. Room very clean. Great covid-19 protocols. Room service is great. Enjoyed our Primrose restaurant breakfast and can confirm eggs benedict was to die for. All the staff super friendly. Coffee bar awesome. Only learning was leaving on-line dinner reservations to day before not a good idea.
Hi there. We stayed overnight and went for food and drinks in Divas lounge around 730pm Nov 14. Obviously with all the new Covid regulations the servers are working extra hard, whilst wearing their masks and smiling with their eyes :) one server in particular, Jocelyn, was very friendly but also working her tail off! I could see she was being run off her feet, being hostess, taking orders, running out orders, running back dirty dishes and of course sanitizing any space vacated for the next patron. She definitely looked like she needed extra help. I just wanted to say she was going above and beyond and needs a pat on the back for working so darn hard, and I hope this was just a one off because otherwise that lounge needs additional assistance. Thanks again Jocelyn. From Amber & Sean Boudreau room 432.…
We were celebrating a special birthday for our family of 8, and were limited in restaurant options in Banff due to Covid health restrictions. But thanks to the events staff at the Rimrock, we had the best dinner I could imagine. We had a private room overlooking the mountains, everyone got exactly what they wanted ordering from the restaurant menu, and the service, food and wine was really spectacular. Sandesh and his team were truly great, and so welcoming. The kids loved that they could go play in a corner while the (tired) grownups actually got to enjoy the meal!
Celebrated my 4 year old’s birthday here. The Primrose Restaurant inside the hotel is exquisite. Buffet still on but staff is serving the food. A la carte also available. Cafes and lounge area are open. Food is absolutely delicious. Covid protocol is very strict. Staff is constantly disinfecting surfaces. Mask is a must. Social distancing inside. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the view from our windows is breathtaking. The paintings in the hallways are added touch. Service is amazing. You need to schedule to use the swimming pool. Overall experience is wonderful, my picky kids are enjoying the food and the ambiance.
