- 5.0Breakfast CoordinatorCurrent Employee, more than 1 yearEden Prairie, MN
Pros
As a breakfast coordinator, I thoroughly enjoy cooking for our guests and engaging in lively conversations with them, adding a fun and interactive touch to their travel experience.
Cons
One challenge of being a breakfast coordinator is the occasional need to handle unexpected dietary restrictions or special requests from guests, which can require quick thinking and adaptability in meal planning.
- 4.0Breakfast AttendantFormer Employee, more than 5 yearsLincoln, NE
Pros
Good perks-discounted rooms at Hilton properties
Cons
Not willing to give a raise bc I had hit the cap for position.
- 1.0House Cleaners/MaidsFormer EmployeeCoeur d'Alene, ID
Pros
They pay fine. And you get to basically be alone all day.
Cons
If you can't do the rooms as fast as they want you too ( do it in under 20 minutes ) They can and will fire you. If you are mentally or physically ill they don't care they will fire you. If you have an issue with any management they will fire you. If you don't make sure that there isn't even a hair in the rooms ( in the 20 minutes you have to clean) they will fire you. If you don't finish 10-15 or more rooms in 4h or less they will fire you. If you don't complete the 8-15 item list of cleaning in 20 or so minutes, they will fire you.
- 3.0Front Desk Night AuditorCurrent Employee, more than 1 year
Pros
Each location amd boss is different but for the most part it's the easiest job in the world, especially the night auditor shift, but doesn't hardly pay. Only $10/hrs at my location, but standard of living here is also low. Can work on my growing software business and look for full time work in my main career.
Cons
Shift work. Can be entirely by yourself at smaller hotels and have to handle all issues on your own. If coworkers are unreliable you might get stuck working a double or hours you didn't want to work. You get blamed for other peoples mistakes all the time. The system is a pain in the butt to learn, both the old and new, just in different ways. Things get kind of crazy on the weekends or in bad locations.
