Hidden in Plain Sight (William Warwick Novels Book 2) Kindle Edition
Filled with Jeffrey Archer’s trademark twists and turns, Hidden in Plain Sight is the gripping second instalment in the life of William Warwick.
Newly promoted, Detective Sergeant William Warwick has been reassigned to the drugs squad. His first case: to investigate a notorious south London drug lord known as the Viper.
But as William and his team close the net around a criminal network unlike any they have ever encountered, he is also faced with an old enemy: Miles Faulkner.
It will take all of William’s cunning to devise a means to bring both men to justice – a trap neither will expect. One that is hidden in plain sight . . .
Though it can be read on its own, Hidden in Plain Sight is the second volume of Jeffrey Archer's William Warwick series, following Nothing Ventured. The story continues with Turn a Blind Eye.

Archer has the ability to draw readers, me in particular, into the whole setup. This time, the villains are men. And the hero is a man as well. But the female characters always retain their innate strengths to decide and carry out their hearts’ desires, even if the mothers were to lift their twins in their arms and walk away from an unpleasant situation.
This series, after I’d read Book 1 and 2, have the makings of another stunning, fast-paced and brilliant plot of courtroom dramas. This series has the protagonist as a detective, his father and sister as the lawyers and his wife, the administrator of the art collection in a reputable art museum. And yes, the story revolves around famous art pieces.
Looking forward to another epic adventure!
Having read many of his books, from the first Not a Penny More, through Cain and Abel, and on to more recent creations, I feel that that William Warwick series has been rather cynically divided into more books than is necessary, and the cliffhanger ending of book 2 was rather too blatant a device to get you to buy the next book in the series

continuerò a leggere la saga di William.
Jeffrey Archer's William Warwick series continues with another excellent book. Set in the late 1980s, this crime drama will undoubtedly transport the readers back in time and is sure to please many.
William Warwick who has now been promoted to Detective Sergeant, is currently assigned to a narcotics unit. He and his colleagues are tasked with investigating and apprehending Viper, an infamous drug dealer who controls half of South London and goes to considerable lengths to conceal his identity and methods. William accidentally bumps into an old friend, who aids him in closing the net on a big narcotics enterprise and take down its lord. Along the way, he also encounters an old foe, Miles Faulkner. It would take all of William's intellect and ingenuity to concoct a plan to bring down all foes, a trap that none will suspect, hidden in plain sight. And what a trap that was!
This second instalment is yet another interesting character-driven plot in which these characters take on corrupt criminals in a battle of wits. It is an exciting novel that features a compelling historical crime drama. With a wide range of gripping scenes, such as heart pounding police raids, meticulous hearings, devious sting schemes and intriguing courtroom episodes, the readers are totally in for a wonderful ride. The author has packed so many twists and turns into the book that the reader is often perplexed as to who succeeds and where the plot goes next.
The storyline that is so profoundly driven or shaped by the excellent characters such as William Warwick, an intelligent, determined, and upright police officer who has devoted his life to fighting crime, has largely been the subject of the tale. Also, besides Warwick, the author has dedicated much of the novel to a number of important other characters such as his family, his confreres and his enemies. The author weaves his plot from a number of varied viewpoints, resulting in a vibrant and diverse narrative that delves into the lives of many interesting characters and some fantastic villains. The exploration of these different characteristics has contributed to the beautiful rhythm of the novel. And, the heartfelt exchanges between William and his father, Grace and his father, and Beth and William added beautiful touches to the novel, as did the suspense of unravelling the mystery and bringing down the drug lord's domination.
With his unique style of weaving the plot with twists and turns, good chapter length, and such nuanced details, the book is sure to engross readers in such a compelling narrative. The novel ends on a cliff-hanger leaving the readers wanting for more. All in all, Hidden in Plain sight is a fascinating and ingenious book that is recommended to all those who enjoy good old historical crime fiction drama and for everyone else too.
