Sunday calendar for Katy Rancher

The Darwin Macon Band will perform at LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch as part of the Fourth of July program. Activities will begin at 5 p.m. at 23501 Cinco Ranch Blvd. and will include live music by Velvet Punch, an interactive kids zone and food and drink for purchase. Fireworks are scheduled for 9:15 p.m.

Nonprofit open house

Kingsland Community Center nonprofits invite the community to a June 30 open house beginning at 12:30 p.m. The center is located in the Omar and Cheryl Garcia Building, 802 Dominion, across from Kingsland Baptist Church, which owns the property. The center is home to the Crisis Center of Katy Christian Ministries, Christ Clinic, Hope Impacts, Compassion Katy, Clothed by Faith and the 25 Group. There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1 p.m. During the two-hour open house, people can tour the nonprofits and talk with representatives of the groups. Snacks and beverages will be provided.

Star-Spangled Spectacular

Second Baptist Church-West Campus, 19449 Katy Freeway, will host a Star Spangled Spectacular on Sunday, June 30, starting at 7 p.m. Purchase dinner from a food truck, enjoy music, play carnival games and bring a lawn chair to view fireworks.

Computer security

Fourth of July auction/luncheon

Katy Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9182 is planning for its annual Fourth of July silent and live auctions and luncheon at the Post, 6202 George Bush Drive in Katy. City of Katy Fourth of July

The City of Katy will host a Freedom Celebration on the Fourth of July. The morning program will be from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Katy Heritage Park and Fire Station #1 to enjoy activities including bounce houses, public safety demos, dunking booth, petting zoo, trackless train, snow cones and more. An evening program of fireworks and music will begin at 9 p.m. near Typhoon Texas and Katy Mills Mall.

Fourth of July at LaCenterra

Texas Children’s Hospital-West Campus will present the July Fourth Celebration at LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch from 5-9:30 p.m. Thursday, July 4. KRBE is the radio partner for the event that will include live music, an interactive kids zone and food and drink for purchase. A 20-minute firework show will begin at 9:15 p.m. LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch is located at 23501 Cinco Ranch Blvd.

Fourth of July at Typhoon Texas

Typhoon Texas, 555 Katy Fort Bend Road, will celebrate the Fourth of July with fireworks, sky divers, live music and military salutes between 10:30 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. Live music from the Tidal Wave Bay performance stage will feature the Stephen Chadwick Band at 1 p.m. followed by the Clint Daniels Band at 3 p.m. and Bri Bagwell at 5:30 p.m. DJ Greg will take to the stage at 7 p.m. The nationally acclaimed RE/MAX Skydiving team is scheduled to perform its aerial Presentation of Colors at 7:30 p.m. The fireworks show from Katy’s Freedom Celebration will begin at 9 p.m. All times are subject to change. Fulshear Freedom Fest

The Fulshear Freedom Fest will be in downtown Fulshear from 6-9:30 p.m. Thursday, July 4. Parking will be available at Fulshear High School, 9302 Charger Way, Fulshear.
