I have been to Hermosillo at several occasions, but never had the opportunity to visit this location. It is very easy to get to, and gives you a total view of all of Hermosillo. This would be a must to include on a visit to this location. This is also a great location to take pictures of friends and family. This is a famous landmark for the city.

There's a little sculpture -- a meter high or less -- near the left side of the building front. It used to be of a girl feeding a bird, but some (human) animal broke the wings off. It's still sweet.

This is Eusibio Francisoo Kino. He lived in 1645-1711.

He was the first foremore pioneer on Baja.

    He was a Jesuit.

He traveled a lot: in Baja,California,Sonora and Mexico.

He was the first European in this place.

    He loved exploring.

    He even made Catholic mission.

Probably he had a horse, I like that he was a otherwise he would not go far!

I've seen a number of similar Mexican buildings lined with traditional murals by famous artists like Rivera and Orozco. These murals feel more contemporary and abstract: The subjects are surrounded by swirls and areas of color that I haven't seen anywhere else.

Although the closing time is supposedly 4 pm, I happened to walk by closer to 5:00 and noticed the open door. I was only allowed to see the ground floor, but it was pretty easy to look up to the first floor where the murals were much less abstract. An employee walked over and told me some of the story of the murals.

Especially because the Museo de Culturas Populares e Indigenas next door is currently closed for the pandemic, seeing this is even more important for art lovers -- along with the spectacular Musas.

If you have time and the mexican baseball league are playing do not hesitate in visit the Stadium. Really a great place to share time with friends and watch a baseball game with a beer (if you drink). Go Naranjeros!

The trail to the base of Cerro El Bachoco is a walk through the desert with lots of birds and plants to see. The walk up is a bit difficult depending on age, our 13 year old niece practically ran, but we are 59 and went a little slower. Once you get to the top the 360degree view is incredible and worth the climb up. Would definitely recommend for those who can exert themselves.

4 galleries, all featuring legitimately world-class Mexican artists. The building itself is a nice piece of architecture and the staff were very friendly. Doesn't hurt that it's free!

Its one of the many little green places we have on the city, its nice during the day for the family, though there are a lot of homeless persons there during the evening and overnight. Take some pictures, might not be preserved but it has been on the city for hundreds of years (1878).

You'll do plenty of walking here. The pads are concrete and mostly not shaded, so come early during hot months. But there are plenty of shared places to sit. Besides the animals, there are lots of desert plants.

It is helpful to appreciate this attraction if you understand the Mexican story about the miracle of virgin, Guadalupe. If you do not know the story you should GOOGLE the history first. The virgin Guadalupe is a big part of Mexican culture and this attraction is a testament to the impact on the Mexican culture.
