I'm a 2017 & 2019 parent. My children are very different from each other and both had wonderful experiences at Washington Latin MS and HS. My introvert was very supported and and found great teacher mentors, and now as an adult, recognizes fondly about how above-and -beyond they went to connect with her. They're still in touch! Academically, she was completely prepared for college, did very well, and graduated with honors. My extrovert had test anxiety, was well-supported, had great relationships with her teachers, and made life-long friendships. As for me, my only complaint wasthe sometimes very late feedback when issues arised, but overall, my children loved their school, were well prepared for college, and now, speak of Washington Latin even more fondly in retrospect.
I have been at Washington Latin for four years. Throughout this time, I have built connections with not only my peers but also staff members at my school. Overall, the environment is very welcoming but I wish we had more overall school spirit and were less cliquey.
Washington latin overall provides a solid education for middle and high schoolers, with a wide range of levels of challenge, allowing students to push themselves as much as possible academically. I would like to see more direct contact with students with important information about what colleges and potential employers look for, so we can best prepare ourselves for our academic careers ahead.
