Helen Schermerhorn Kingsland was born in New York in 1876. Her parents were George Lovett Kingsland and Helen (Welles) Kingsland, daughter of Benjamin Sumner Welles.[1]
She died at age 80 in Paris, France, on 12 August 1956. She was survived by her three sons: Newbold Morris of New York City, Stephen V. C. Morris and George L. K. Morris. Her son Stephen was a cultural affairs officer in the U.S. Embassy in Paris. Her remains were returned to the United States.[6]
