The Iowa Hawkeyes had a veteran lineup in 2021-22 but it’s time to look ahead after falling short of a team title in Detroit this past March. Looking ahead to the wrestling lineup next season is an intriguing exercise because the transfer portal is alive and well and wrestlers could change weights over the course of a long offseason. But for now, this is a rough look at the Hawkeyes heading into 2022-23.

The Hawkeyes won a team title in 2021, the first since 2010 under Tom and Terry Brands. After Penn State took the crown in 2022, the new Iowa lineup might have some good firepower to make a run at NCAAs. From a dual meet perspective, the Hawkeyes are going to be tough to beat in that setting.

The lineup is highlight by the return of three-time NCAA champion Spencer Lee and the addition of Stanford transfer Real Woods, but there’s more where that came from.
