Harvey Elliott plans to be at Liverpool for the rest of his career

Harvey Elliott plans on being at Liverpool for the rest of his career. The youngster is even planning a coaching role.

Harvey Elliott is still only 19 but he’s already a regular at Liverpool. The player has a place in midfield and Jurgen Klopp is quite clearly a massive fan of him.

Liverpool have a special young player here, then. Elliott could conceivably stay in the first-team for his entire career if he wanted. Fortunately, he does want just that.

Elliott talked this week to Liverpoolfc.com about his long-term goals. Despite only just starting his career and looking destined for the very top, he fully intends to stay at Anfield for his entire career – and beyond.

“[My plan] is to stay here for the rest of my career,” said Elliott. “Whether that is as a player, or a coach, or whatever it is – a mentor to the younger ones.

“I just want to be at Liverpool for the rest of my life. It feels like home now all of my family have moved up with me.”

Liverpool can count themselves as remarkably fortunate that Elliott grew up as a fan and has never shown any intention to play for anyone else. They’ve got a player for life here – and a potentially world-class one.

Even the best on the planet move elsewhere, after all. Liverpool have seen unbelievable talents push for moves away but Elliott, as things stand, certainly won’t do that.

The fact that Trent Alexander-Arnold sees things the same way is incredible, then. Liverpool could be in another Steven Gerrard/Jamie Carragher situation where two players can form a key part of their side for over a decade.

That’ll certainly be the dream. If Elliott gets his way, he’ll be a part of the furniture for even longer than that.
