From the initial check in, to the bars and restaurants, to the amenities in the room, to our fast and easy check out, every detail was superbly executed. The Hard Rock is a great place to stay with friends for a great time. The atmosphere is trendy and makes you want to hang out in the swanky bars on the first floor. We went there for a Bachelorette party of 16 girls and had a terrific time. It’s walking distance to great shops and restaurants. Very clean hotel. I would definitely recommend it.

Stayed in really the nicest suite in my life. Rockstar suite 702 has a huge wrap around patio deck that looks directly into both the pool and club. The Hard Rock was the perfect choice for us. We stayed for 3 days in Downtown San Diego for a major bachelorette weekend and it couldn't have been better. We made a request for an early check in and our 2 rooms to be next to each other and both were taken care of!! In addition to that, everyone in the hotel was very accommodating and friendly to us. They knew we were celebrating and made us feel very welcome and taken care of. The location downtown is also very convenient for walking to bars and restaurants but also to anywhere else we decided to go for the weekend. I highly recommend this for your next get together with your friends!

I've stayed here for both business and pleasure and everytime it is quite enjoyable. They treat everyone like a Rock Star! Just be advised it's insane on Saturday nights, if you're looking for a quiet, relaxing evening, this might not be your best bet. But if you're looking for great nightlife, stay at the Hard Rock! And really fun rooms too.

We live in San Diego but decided to stay downtown for the night. We had service that was above and beyond. We even got free drinks while we were checking in Our room was clean and fun with a great view. The beds were super soft and even had Hard Rock detail on their pillows. The security staff was GREAT!!! They all took care of us. There are 2 things that I didn't like. The main knocked on our door at 8 am. Really?? 8 am at the Hard Rock? WAY to early. The second this was, we got charged for something out of the mini bar. We didn't touch the mini bar. Other than those two issues we had a great stay here and would come back again and again.

We love our local “staycationers”! Feel free to come down whenever you need a break from reality. I hope you were able to get the mini bar charge worked out. If not, you can call the hotel’s main line you will be connected with the right people to look into that.

This was the last hotel we stayed in during our honeymoon in the US, and we absolutely loved it. It was very stylish and the staff were extremely friendly. The food was fantastic, as was the hotel's own bar located next to the reception area. Since we have been back, we have recommended this hotel to anyone who has expressed an interest in going to San Diego!

I originally booked an overnight Gaslamp birthday evening for my husband at another hotel, but switched at the last minute thinking that my husband would much rather stay at the Hard Rock. It was a longshot, but I called 2 days before our evening and they closely matched my reservation price for a basic room at a hotel a couple blocks away. I went to the hotel at 1:30 (even though check in was at 4) and asked if the room was ready. They told me that it was and when I was asked if I wanted to upgrade our studio room to a suite, I explained it was my husbands birthday and wasnt sure if I could manage the extra expense. They told me that they wanted our weekend to be great, so the upgrade would be a birthday present from them! AWESOME! We were very impressed with the cleanliness…

When I stayed the deposit went towards one of my room nights - it wasn't returned (if I would have canceled my stay within their cancelation policy guidelines, it probably would have been returned).

Yes, a deposit for incidentals is required at check in. $100 additional deposit is required for standard rooms per night or $250 additional deposit is required for Rock Star Suites per night. We look forward to welcoming you soon.

We do not have a casino at our property. San Diego does have a few casinos. They are some card rooms nearby, but they do not offer electronic gaming. Traditional casinos are about 40 minutes away.
