Mechanical Design Engineer
Hammersmith Mfg. & Sales Inc., is looking to hire a qualified Mechanical Design Engineer at our Horton plant location/Overland Park office. Summary/Objective
Design, develop, and support new and existing products in our Vail X Series line of skid steer and compact track loader attachments. This will include cross discipline communication with other design and shop personnel, management, suppliers, as well as end users.Identifying continuous improvements and solving manufacturing problems will also be involved.
The design engineer position will work under the direction of our Engineering Manager. Responsibilities will also include developing, maintaining, and updating other HMSI product lines.
Minimal travel required for research and development, testing, and industry trade shows.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
- Engineering internship(s) or related experience (i.e. student organization design competitions) in machine design,manufacturing, hydraulics, etc. preferred.
- Proficient use of Solid Modeling / 3DCAD software, ProE / Creo Preferred – (3D rendering/animation experience in Key Shot is a plus).
- Requires creative, analytical, and outside the box thinking to solve problems.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with good organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing.
- Proficient use of word processing,spreadsheets, and email (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
