On the Balham shot, it looks as though this was taken from what is now the Costa, looking north-east, and the Barratts sign is on what is now the EE shop, next to Sainsburys.

It was a disaster for those on the tube platforms below - the tunnels were more than half filled with mud.

Ah so that's what it looked like. There is a plaque up in the station.
