Subject: The Final Ballot

The first two pageants have definitely turned out to be interesting in terms of judging. I am curious as to what MAO is intending by the final ballot. What exactly are judges supposed to rank the girls on once they are in the Top 5 and the final ballot is in place? Is the person you rank as 1st place supposed to be the girl you like the most? Or the best one in the competition? Or the one you see as being the best spokesperson for the job? Is it a job interview in the top 5? Or do EDs tell the judges who they hope will be “hired” by the judges?

Thoroughly confused here as to what MAOs direction is with the final ballot.

I was told by a very close source:

All the teen candidates were told if they compete in the Miss Mississippi Volunteer pageant in June, they will have to resign their local title. Doesn't matter if their year in service is up or if they have aged out. They can not crown their successor or give a farewell speech. Some girls have even said their scholarships will be taken away.

These contestant pageant quotations run the gamut from the 60s through the decade of 2010. All of them, of course, at least made top ten. Most of them did much better. Happy guessing!

A. "The Oriental background is very rich in the arts and my family emphasized growing culturally. And that's why I'm so involved in art and music and piano."

B. "I believe parents should be the ones teaching their children how to eat and then it wouldn't be the government's job to step in."

C. "I've always wanted to be a doctor since I was about 12 years old. And I think it's because following a career in the medical profession, I can contribute something to our society instead of taking from it." ( I don't believe she ever came close to becoming a doctor.)

D. "I have so much material to work with. Let's just say a wardrobe malfunction and leave it at that."

E. "I honestly believe that education is not a prepartion for life, but is life itself."

F. "You have so many people supporting you and so many people giving of themself for so long that you don't want to disappoint them, so that's why it's hard when you loose."

G. "We all have goals and dreams in our lives and we want to be successful within our careers, but we have to understand that the releationships we build with people are the most important thing."

Everyone on here is talking about Miss New Hampshire last weekend but that teen was who really shined. Her talent performances were both impressive and when she opens her mouth to speak is WOW. Been watching isabel for a while now and always adored but I’m starting to think she will could really do well at MAOT?

With the Kentucky Derby set to have a race tomorrow (Saturday, May 1st) in Louisville, Kentucky with an audience in the stands (a tradition since 1875), will the current Miss America attend with a fancy hat as past Miss America winners have been seen at this annual event?

Anyone know if Miss America 2020, Camille Schrier will attend the event---and how about the current Miss Kentucky 2019, Alex Francke, as well?? By the way, is her first name actually Alexandra, Alexandria or Alexis?
