Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A lovely sandy beach with crystal clear sea. The sunbeds and umbrellas are free if you buy something, even just a drink, from the hotel or taverna. Remember to swim in the morning as sometimes the wind picks up in the afternoon.

The Lighthouse on the small island in front of Gythio is easy accessible on foot - it takes 10 minutes.

The Lighthouse is picturesque, but you can’t get close as it is navy property. Never mind, turn around and walk back - and now you will discover the beautiful views to the city. Even more picturesque!

The small island itself consists of pleasant nature - locals go picnic there.

An amazing adventure by e bike from Karvelas, Vathy or Gythio along the sun drenched coastline through the olive and orange fields to the isolated farm at Biohof Karababas. Pristine surroundings thrive due to the nurturing spirit of the owners and their dedication to clean, organically grown olives, grapes and other greens of the South Peloponnese region. With convenient shipping and delivery world wide you can take a taste of Greece home with you. They host daily tours in the summer and welcome travellers from around the world in German, Greek and English! When in Gythio or the South Peloponnese you should take a day trip to this slice of heaven.

perfect location as it encompasses a long, sandy beach, the view of a wreck on a beach, a nice restaurant and beach bar (no music which is an asset) and beach beds with a mattress on an elevated level which allows viewing the entire area

This tiny castle - and the lighthouse on the small island outside Gythos - is easily accessible on foot. 10 minutes and you are there.

Unfortunately both sights are closed to the public, but you can shoot a couple of nice photos from the outside.

But even better - the views to the citys are amazing from out here.

We tendered to this port, meandered for about an hour, found a good small outdoor restaurant, and had lunch. The town itself has a Roman background, with baths and an ancient theater in its central area. It is worth a short visit.

I had the lager and their West Coast IPA and both are among the better beers that I have had while in Greece. Their beer is only available by the case from the brewery or in restaurants in the Peloponnese in 500 or 330ml bottles. The brewery is 20 minutes south of Sparta and they don't have a taproom or do tours so only go here if you intend to buy some beer. I went out and spoke with the owner - really nice people trying to make fresh local beer.

The imposing castle of chieftain Tzanetakis, a pleasant walk near the Lighthouse, its on the small island of Kranai, you can go by car up to a certain point or on foot. The tower today houses the museum of Mani, make sure to visit!

Walked here from cruise port. Fenced off so you cannot go in. If you are close by just walk and take a look, but nothing special.

This is certainly a "must". You just HAVE to go there. Do not miss the pasteli and ABOVE ALL the "diples". Just don't miss that!! We also bought 1 kilo of diples to take home. They lasted just a couple of days, only.....

Visited a couple times and every time service was good and quick. There are plenty different cocktails to choose while listening to some cool music and enjoying a great view. Can’t ask for more.
