GPS put us at the wrong place, by the tennis courts. Went back two roads and found the parking lot and river access. Lovely place for birdwatching and enjoying nature. Lots of heavy spruce forest, with birds that like that environment. Lots of hiking trails.

This is a lovely park! There's decent parking, a portable toilet, and a good network of trails. If you want to stay civilized you can stay on the asphalt trail, but the treasures are best experienced from the gravelled and less formal trails. There's lots of water in the park, which nourishes birds and other wildlife, but also can generate mosquitos, so beware! Birdwatchers will love this park. The only negative is that there is a huge transmission line going down the middle, spoiling the ambience a bit. But that's minor, and we plan to visit this park more frequently.

Make sure you're well dressed for this place. Need a proper jacket, shoes, bug spray. There are a few pathways you can walk but they are narrow and not too well marked. People come here to fish, walk their dogs or exercise. The parking lot is quite big but the pathways can get crowded.

What a beautiful hidden park. We didn’t know about this wooded natural area, within the city. But you feel like you’re in the foothills west of Calgary. Tiny parking lot does not allow for the amount of traffic, especially on a Sunday afternoon. But if you’re patient, people are coming and going constantly. Pathways seemed to go on forever. Lots of different directions to go and choices galore. There are small creeks and bridges too. First time and will definitely be back.
