No longer under the sheets together: Ellie Goulding and  Radio 1 DJ beau Greg James end 18-month relationship

They were both Starry Eyed when they first met 18 months ago, but Ellie Goulding and her beau Greg James have ended their relationship.

The couple apparently called it quits just before the festive season, ending 'amicably' according to a source.

Tell-tale signs were there very recently when Ellie moved out of the apartment that she shared with Radio 1 DJ Greg in autumn last year.

A source claimed in The Sun newspaper: 'Things had not been right for a while but they only called it [off] a month ago.

'It was just a real struggle for them to be in the same place at the same time.'

However, it's claimed that the couple ended on good terms.

The source added: 'The split is amicable and they are still friends.'

Ellie first became internationally recognised last year when Prince William and Kate Middleton chose her to sing at their wedding reception.

Her professional life has since soared, but her personal life seems to have hit a rough patch.

Ellie and Greg first got together in June 2010 at one of Ellie's early live shows.

In August 2010 she admitted to GMTV host Emma Bunton that she was dating Greg, but it seems the pressures of their individual work schedules contributed to the demise of their relationship.

Following the split in early December, Ellie decided to take her mind off the break-up by going on holiday to Thailand with her friend singer Jessie J over the Christmas holidays.

She was seen on New Year's Eve apparently in good spirits.
