Coworkers are great. Upper management isnt. No flexibility and low compensation
Project Coordinator (Current Employee) - Lincoln, RI - March 14, 2024
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedSince i started full time in June, I know a hand full of people who left, two of those being people on my team. After that the work load for us has been too overwhelming because upper management has not found or hired new people to help us. Also, the flexibility sucks. We are forced to go into the office 4 days a week despite the fact that many in the company can accomplish their work perfectly fine working from home. I like the coworkers I work closely with as they are kind and always willing to help each other out. However, the CEO and upper management seem to be making decisions based on what they think is only good for growing the company and generating more revenue instead of whats the best interest of its employees. Additionally, the CEO is highly biased of the sales department while people like me in the PM feel under appreciated and under paid.

Good people, bad job, low pay.
Regional Account Manager (Current Employee) - Atlanta, GA - March 27, 2024
The company is going in the wrong direction. Recently changed back to the old comp plan ( which is still horrendous compared to most sales roles). Leadership in ATL is good. The RVP is likely why most people stay as long as they do. There is no career growth unless you want to cold call/email for 5-7 years. Top-performing Reps are leaving for better-paying jobs.

Not Great
Sales Associate (Current Employee) - Quincy, MA - March 13, 2024
Poor pay and declining sales model with old technology, lack of support and communication between departments, management has unreasonable expectations that come with small payouts to employees.
Pros
Some cool people
Cons
Management is delusional

Fast Paced
Network Engineer (Current Employee) - Quincy, MA - March 7, 2024
Granite is a good place to start your career. IT is an MSP/ISP and has a lot of different technical devices and solutions that make it fun. The pro is also the con, as it has so many different technologies, it can be hard to keep up with.

management was terrible, no training, but there was food
Project Coordinator (Former Employee) - Boston, MA - February 17, 2024
I worked here for about a year and then after seeing how disorganized the company is and managers blaming their untrained people for their problems I realized that I should probably go do something else. not a very inclusive place either.
Pros

Cons

Worst company I have work at in 15 years
Operations (Former Employee) - Quincy, MA - February 16, 2024
Granite is like working in a boiler room with young kids that have no idea about telecom. The management keeps everything close to the chest, and do not share anything. No training, good luck on getting any details on training. They say they do not lay off and no debt. They should quit lying to their customers. They let go the experienced sales people then hire political officials kids that have NO telecom experience. What a way to treat your people that have worked their way to make a living then let hire some kid that does not deserve it. Karma will catch up to the management team.
Pros
Free lunch..woo hoo
Cons
Watch over you like your children

It's alright. Management and co-workers were all amazing.
Data Repair Analyst (Former Employee) - Quincy, MA - February 14, 2024
The department went through several title changes with increasing responsibilities. It wasn't until the end of last year that they started paying their employees a decent wage of just under $30 for doing the responsibilities of two departments. Keep in mind this is a several billion dollar company that prides itself on having $0 debt. Management and co-workers were and still are amazing. Never really dreaded going into work. Work load was better a few years ago but started getting overwhelming in the last 2 years. Likely because of the department merge. Like any company upper management cares more about hitting the numbers than the quality of work done.

Easy to advance if you want to, but why would you want to
Manager (Former Employee) - Quincy, MA - February 8, 2024
Granite doesn't hire for roles they are contractually obligated to with major customers. C-level is insanely toxic: they literally scream and call people out for minor transgressions in group meetings. If you don't answer a call outside of business hours expect to be chewed out--even if you call back in 30 minutes or have provided updates via email. They act like no one has a life outside of work and no one needs to eat or use the bathroom--it's seriously insane and I recommend people avoid dealing with upper management at all costs. Upper management takes credit for their direct reports' work and blames them if things go wrong. Lots of gaslighting and lying about paperwork for promotions, changes, processes, and every process is thrown out if a customer is angry or calls one of their buddies at the top.
Pros
Some of the best, hardest-working, most honest co-workers ever who will help no matter what, super diverse workforce with employees from all over the country and world
Cons
People are taken advantage of constantly, most technical teams get more and more responsibility if other teams fail, no limits for after-hours work, you're looked down on for taking lunch or being sick, refused to hire to keep up with demand and instead burn people out, leading to more work for less people, hourly employees run out of the building at 5pm, if you're honest and don't suck up to your director your bonuses suffer

Bad management
Data repair analyst (Former Employee) - Quincy, MA - January 9, 2024
Coworkers are great and you learn a lot from the job but management and pay will make you want to leave. It’s a great stepping stone but it takes too long to move up unless you’re favored by management

Run poorly by all higher levels of management
Offer Management (Former Employee) - Quincy, MA - January 9, 2024
Unprofessional management runs this place like a kindergarten. Like many old school companies, you are just a pawn they push around and always add additional responsibilities on a monthly basis with no promotions in sight. The only way to get promotions here is to wait 1.5-2 years, do 3 times the work you are hired to do, or wait for your coworkers to quit or get fired to have an advantage to get one sooner.
Pros
Free food once every couple months to keep you happy
Cons
Too many

Complete Joke
Repair (Current Employee) - Quincy, MA - December 19, 2023
Run! This place does not care about its employees and only wants to look good in the public eye. Horrible communication from “management” and treat people like it’s high school. The pay is extremely low and laughable and they will work you to the ground for no incentives and no raises. When trying to change departments the “recruiter” does not get back to you and strings you along for weeks until the position is filled. Do not waste your time working here…

analyst (Current Employee) - Quincy, MA - December 17, 2023
Middle management is great, no problems there. the upper management run this company like a cringey army and will work you into a grave. Bad pay, bad benefits, and bad treatment if you're not in sales or not working 24/7.

Not great
NOC Technician (Current Employee) - Quincy, MA - December 6, 2023
Coworkers and direct supervisors are outstanding but upper management is absolutely atrocious, completely removed WFH for 0 reason, raises are non existent and paid FAR below national average. Stress is relatively low but be prepared for upper management to not care about you or any other employee. They only care about sales and money and they don't care how they have to get there. CEO is terrible and extremely out of touch.

Not Ideal
Product Development Analyst (Former Employee) - Quincy, MA - November 18, 2023
The company is sales first oriented, mostly putting the cart before the horse. The benefits and salary are appalling. The company does have a gym, which is quite nice.

A complete clown car
NOC Supervisor (Current Employee) - Quincy, MA - November 9, 2023
This place has a very toxic work culture that almost worships throwing other people under the bus. They lie to bother customers and to their employees using vague language to protect themselves. They constantly move the goal posts for promotion and advancement. They take new people in and use them up. Could not advise looking elsewhere any harder.
Pros
Good supportive teammates
Cons
Toxic culture, tone death management, hard to advance
