The Hotel De La Ville was an excellent 2-night stay for our family of four in June 2019. Located three blocks from the Duomo, a 15-minute walk from the train station and virtually everything else you want to see in Florence is assessable on foot. The rooms are huge compared to others in Europe or America, the beds were very comfortable, the bathrooms classically modern, and the whole place well appointed and truly a value for the price point. The restaurant was superb! The food was excellent, and the service outstanding. The front desk was top shelf, and very helpful! We highly recommend this hotel to families and friends that are visiting Florence. You can do everything on foot from this location and you get great value for the price. We look forward to our return!

If you're going to Florence to shop and sight see, this is a great option for you. It's located in the heart of all where all of the designer shopping is and it's easy to walk to all of the great tourist sites from here. On the plus side, they do offer valet/parking which is great because you can't drive in most of Florence, but by parking with the hotel you won't get ticketed for driving there. They have a lovely happy hour/aperitivo service as well. The only downside is the rooms are a bit on the small side and dated in the decor, but it fits the style of the hotel. We got our rooms with breakfast included which was a great plus. I had a room facing inward to a courtyard so it just had frost on the window so there was nothing to look at. I would ask for a room facing out to the street next time.

This hotel is located in a great area and is a throw back to earlier times...think Breakfast at Tiffany's...and wonderfully elegant in every way. Extremely clean rooms and bathrooms, professional and cordial staff, lovely breakfast and a charming happy hour make this hotel a place to stay. It's not the Four Seasons but I loved everything about it. The rooms can be noisy due to street noise. Ask for a high floor or an interior room to avoid noise. We'll be back.

The location is very ideal , close to Domo in 2 mins walk and close to Santa Maria Novelle station in about 5-7mins walk. The hotel beside Hermes / Hogan/ Gucci shops . High Street lane .
But the room is small , no hotpot/ cup, and on Dec winter when you came back into your room at night the centralised aircon blowing hot air out even though you. Switch to fan mode. It’s very hot to settle in for the first 1-2 hours before your room can get better.
The conceirge is quite hopeless you asking them to assist to book restaurants , nothing done and now update from them about it as though they don’t even know when you ask for it in your email .
Overall, I think it is just an average hotel

A great choice. Traditionally appointed deluxe hotel located on Florence’s toniest street — right by Hermès, Giorgio Armani, Tiffany, Rolex, etc. Our junior suite was the perfect size, with ample living-area space for conversation and hors d’oeuvres. The daily breakfast in the restaurant offered a wide variety of buffet choices, with custom dishes available at a nominal charge. Happy hour at the hotel bar featured a generous spread of snacks. Ahmed was a pleasant and helpful bartender, and Andreas, who initially checked us in, was friendly and highly professional. Easy access to all of the sights.

This hotel is unlike any I’ve ever stayed at before. We are a family of four and really like the set up of the room we booked. There are double rooms. You can enter on the first floor to the first floor room. There’s two twin beds, two chairs, desk, table and a full bathroom. If you walk up the stairs in the room you go up to a queen bed with a desk, and another full bathroom. That bathroom has a bath/shower while the downstairs one has just a shower. You can also enter the upstairs room from the 2nd floor. The rooms were clean and powered up by keys. They did get hot at some points but not unbearable. Staff were very friendly! They have continental breakfast in the morning. You can leave your keys at the front desk when you travel outside the hotel. They also have a little bar area with complimentary snacks and little appetizers. And the location is fantastic. Within walking distance of everything!

Just ok. I gave it an extra star because of the great location and that we are probably spoiled from staying at beautiful resorts in the Tuscan countryside. Room was uncomfortably small. Breakfast not very good. Coffee was the highlight. Front desk was fine but not overly welcoming. I tried to get help with a dinner reservation in advance and they didnt try until the day before our trip, despite me emailing several weeks in advance and them saying they’d try to help. So of course the restaurant was “ fully booked” the day before when they finally called. They just had an air of not trying to be hospitable. Very hot in room despite A/C at times. Sink made annoying screech noise whenever faucet on. Tried to blowdry my hair and it blew a fuse. Dont recommend driving there because google maps will take you down roads that arent open- very scary. Website says it provides transport to and from airport but what they mean is they will call you a taxi.

The hotel is located at a great location and we were able to walk to all places we visited. The hotel has an old time charm, comfortable beds and great buffet breakfast selections. Room size is relatively small but sufficient for 2 persons. Our only complain is the hotel Wifi, very slow even in the common area and not sufficient for working at all. And our cell phone reception within the hotel was bad (probably due to the old building thick wall?). We ended up went to a Starbucks store to get online.

Covid meant that this iconic hotel in Florence was closed for over two years. It has now reopened and we had a simply wonderful experience there. Our room was large, beautifully furnished and the bed extremely comfortable, with lovely linens. The housekeeping service was excellent, as was the buffet breakfast. The location of this hotel is wonderful - walking distance from the train and tranvia stations and just a stone's throw away from the Duomo, Piazza della Repubblica and the famous via Tornabuoni. Despite its central location, we found the room to be very quiet. This hotel is simply an excellent choice.

Dear Gianna, finally we were able to welcome our guests after a long time. Visiting Florence after Covid's sad periods, is an excellent medicine for the spirit and humour. In our centrally located Hotel De la Ville the silence and comfort of our guests is very important. Interior soundproofing is ensured by the spacious corridors and ceilings. Beautifully appointed hotel within a 3 minute walk to the Duomo, shopping and many restaurants. The bedrooms are spacious, beds are firm and very comfortable and closet space is abundant. The bathrooms are small by American standards but certainly functional. The hotel was vey quiet with a wonderful breakfast included. Staff was more than helpful in ordering cabs, recommending restaurants and exchanging pillows or providing fans! Would definitely stay in this hotel again!
