We booked a room to stay after a concert. For $200 we got a 2 bed queen smoke smelly room which they tried to mask with carpet cleaner. We were in the west wing. Rooms need to be updated. We ate at the buffet the only thing that was at the right tempature was the soft drinks and the salad bar.

We went to try out the new long awaited Grand Provisions. We were very disappointed. We enjoyed the old buffet where you could try a variety of foods. The prices are high and food quality is worse than hospital food. I think this was a huge mistake that needs to be reviewed by management. In the past we would choose to go there for dinner and then spend a few hours in the casino. Now if we go out for dinner we never even consider going there anymore. My vote is to shut it down and start over!

Who ever herd of a casino without a buffet. That's one of the perks of coming to a casino and resort. This current set up was done for the benefit of the casino bosses, not the patrons.
The entries were very limited , few assortments, and no seconds. Overall, it was overpriced. Even drinks, such as milk and some juices had to be paid for. It's like eating in a hospital cafeteria. All this upgrade was, is a cost saving measure. Same on you. It will be a very long time before I come back.

Went to check out the new restaurant last night and was thoroughly disappointed! I don't know who's bright idea it was to remove the buffet and replace with a cafeteria. The staff were even complaining about the system!! We watched one staff get yelled at by an elderly woman because she didn't want to use those cards.
Those cards were pretty dumb. My husband and I got separate cards which looked old and felt greasy. What a huge waste of money! We won't be back because there is nothing grand about that place.

Pay outs are few and far between! Nothing but disgruntled guests expressing their point of discontent! The food? Well.........highly recommend eating at Cassidy's. The new Stories and Grand Provisions are simply a total disappointment! Very pricey for a Casino. Food is straight out of a freezer box or a five gallon pail!......and it tastes like it too! Management for this "disappointment" would do well to travel North for about an hour, and discover "Black Bear!" Food is exceptional and service to match. You see, "Their Management" seems to use the approach of; "pay a fair wage and benefits for a quality Chef...........and watch the customers line up for a table!" Even the staff at Grand Casino "HIGHLY" recommend Black Bear! Grand Casino needs to learn the obvious; Not everything can suffer abusive cuts to support the bottom line! Grand Casino Hinckley is no longer a point of destination for this customer........Black Bear is!

My husband and I stopped for a few hours on our road trip for a little gambling and lunch. Was very disappointed there was no buffet and even more disappointed with the choice's, prices and food. We both had prime rib sandwiches, the bun was hard and the meat was very cold. I would rather pay $15-$18 for a buffet where i can sample everything. We are attending a concert here in October and will not be eating at the casino.

We enjoyed going there when they had the buffet and main restaurant. Now they replaced the Grand Buffet with Grand Provisions and replacing the main restaurant with a Brew Pub and Grill. The Grand Provisions was a big disappointment. High priced for a casino. Everything is entrees for instance my wife ordered pork tenderloin for $7.95 she got two sides corn and mashed potatoes and a roll the size of a golf ball. If she wanted a small salad it would be $5.95. I ordered Pah Thai bowl of noodles for $8.95. Not eating at casino again will go to Tobies or Cassidy's.

If you have a problem with the smell of smoke, why do you go to a casino and then complain?? Non-smokers can go anywhere they want and not deal with smoke. The ONLY place left in MN that you can smoke indoors is in casinos. Casinos are all about fun and indulgence. They are meant for adults, not children. You go to a place where the main theme is all about drinking and gambling and think you won't have smoking as well? Really???? Deal with it people. If you don't like it go to any bar, diner, mall or any of the other hundreds of places that don't allow smoking.BTW... we Love this place!!

The bed was comfortable, but the other hotel guests running up and down the hallways and making tons of noise after 12am was horrible. The entire hotel reeked of smoke. I like gambling and having fun in casinos but his was a bad experience. Save your money and go some other place, unless you are depressed and like to smoke.

i have stayed at the casino many tines over the last 6 yrs .since they have started the construction to expand i feel the over all quality of the casino has slipped. the food at the grill however is still good. large portions at reasonable prices. i play alot of slots and they have a excellent variety. i think they have tightened them up to pay for the construction. the comps have been scaled back for sure. i think the way to go is to stay across the street. clean rooms same price as the casino. they have a great pool and a free continental breakfast. just take the free shutle to the casino. we still like hinkley and are goining back in january

2 of the 3 hotels at Grand Casino Hinckley serve a continental breakfast. The Grand Hinckley Inn and The Grand Northern Inn. Both are a nice breakfast. The main hotel offs a Coffee shop in the hotel lobby, Breakfast can be bought at 3 of the restaurants. Buffy, Stories Dinner. and Provisions to go. All 3 have a great menu.
