Electromechanical assemblies utilize electrical and mechanical components to perform a variety of operations, such as generating power (electric motors), controlling systems (various switches), and performing power-enhanced mechanical tasks. In multi-layer boards, holes known as vias connect the various layers, which may require manual threading. Component leads are attached to the board with solder.
