Glen Campbell Back Home with Wife Kim After Leaving Memory Care Facility

After more than a year of living in a full-time facility, country legend Glen Campbell has moved back home with his loved ones.

In July, the singer’s wife Kim Campbell moved her husband back into their Nashville home, where he is being cared for by her and a team of caregivers, PEOPLE confirms.

“He still has the same essence. He still has the same twinkle in his eyes,” she told PEOPLE in June. “He has the same chuckle, and he’s still an entertainer.”

Glen moved to the memory-care facility, located minutes from the family’s home, in April 2014. Cared for by Kim and a personal sitter, the star was often visited by his children and other longtime friends.

“I like to play him his old songs,” said the Campbells’ son Shannon. “It seems like he likes to fall asleep to that.”

The “Rhinestone Cowboy” singer was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s four years ago and went on to perform more than 150 shows on his final tour, which was documented in the movie Glen Campbell: I’ll Be Me.
