Glen Campbell – Wichita Lineman

I don't have an original to compare, but this reissue is very enjoyable! The price was very affordable at $19.99 on Amazon. Comes with a standard plain white inner sleeve, which is no big deal. I know people complain about that, but the fact is records came in paper sleeves for years and have survived. Only in recent years, during the vinyl resurgence, collectors have become very picky with poly inner sleeves and all kinds of other things like special outer sleeves designed for gatefolds and putting your record on the outside of the jacket to prevent ring wear. For crying out loud, the function of the jacket is to hold the record ON THE INSIDE OF IT. Also, the audiophile thing just drives me crazy with AAA vs digital sourced releases. The important thing is how well it was recorded, mixed and mastered. If that's done well, the record will sound great regardless of digital files. So with that said the title track blows me away! Very clear and detailed. Homerun! The only issue I had was that the center hole on the label wasn't big enough. I took a pencil and squeezed it though, which seemed to help. If you're a fan of Glen Campbell and need a clean, excellent sounding reissue, this will not disappoint. Capitol did an incredible job mastering this one!

The runout marks on mine are ST-1-103 B4 and ST-2-103 B11. What date was it made?

I have never seen this SN 16160 version of the album. Also note that the track listings on this version are missing the Billy Edd Wheeler song, "Ann". Capitol's SN 16000 series albums were budget pressings and all of my copies have a disclaimer that some of the songs from the original title have been deleted ("abridged") on the reissue. The 1975 yellow label SM 103 budget copy featured all the songs on the original ST 103 release.

Wichita Lineman is a great song, romantic...great listen..I am not a C W fan but the composition and lyrics are really nice

I have this album with a catalog number of C 062-80 034. The text on the back I think is German but the catalog number differs from the German one.

Does anybody have an idea what country this is from or whether it is a german re-release.
