University of Glasgow

The University of Glasgow is the main university in the city and home to around 32,500 students, including over 21,000 undergraduates and 11,500 postgraduates.

The University of Glasgow is a Russell Group university usually ranked in the top 10 of UK league tables. It’s known for a wide variety of courses, from computer studies to agriculture and offers high-quality education within the city centre.

The university has four main colleges, each offering a range of courses. Those colleges include the College of Arts, College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences, College of Science and Engineering and College of Social Sciences.

Where are your Glasgow university halls located?

Sanctuary Students has six Glasgow university halls. They are located on Kelvinhaugh Street, Kelvinhaugh Place, Kelvinhaugh Gate, Caithness Street, Bellshaugh Court and Winton Drive.

Each is within a short distance of the city centre, with three being in the city itself.

When should I book my Glasgow uni halls?

We recommend booking your Glasgow uni halls as soon as your place is confirmed or as soon as reservations open. Glasgow University is incredibly popular and so is our student accommodation. Places are limited and it’s first come, first served.

All bookings must be made via the University of Glasgow. You’ll need to apply through the university website and follow their application procedures to secure your place.

How do I book University of Glasgow student accommodation?

Booking your University of Glasgow student accommodation is simple. Choose the accommodation you want, make sure there are vacancies and visit the University of Glasgow website.

We work exclusively with the University of Glasgow and all accommodation is booked through them. Once confirmed, you’ll need to pay a deposit to reserve the room ready for your arrival.

Can I stay with my friends?

Sanctuary Students will do everything we can to ensure you and your friends can stay together. If you’re all studying at the University of Glasgow, mention that when reserving your room and request you all be put together. As long as there’s space, we’ll work with the university to make it happen.

Is Glasgow a safe city to be a student?

Glasgow is a safe city to be a student. There are around 55,000 students in the city during term and the vast majority will have a great time. There are areas of the city you need to be wary of, but most student areas and the city centre itself is relatively safe.
