Our waitress was horrible. took forever to greet us. The runner left aps but we had no silverware, waitress not to be seen. We saw her waved her down, she walked in the opposite direction. One runner plopped down the last plate of food and...ran, no time to tell him this is the wrong food, took another 5 minutes to wave down the waitress. Over all a bad experience. Way overpriced, They added an automatic 20% tip to our bill so didnt really matter to the waitress if she gave poor service. Then on our 200 dollar bill, they added over 12 dollars for using a credit card. will not go back.More

Went out for drinks with friends and we were refused service and threatened to call the police because we had "fake" IDs. We are all over 21 years old (21, and 26)! All of us have REAL IDs! State issued IDs. The new real IDs...and newly renewed IDs. We were shocked and poorly treated. The manager was extremely rude. The situation was strongly mishandled. We explained we all were over 21 and showed our IDs again. The older gentleman looked at our IDs and saw nothing wrong and the bartender changed his story. How can you tell us our IDs are fake when they are not at all. Absolutely insane and absurd. Such injustice when we did nothing wrong! The employees here are horrible and wrong. Need training on identifying proper identification. This has never happened to any of us at any other restaurant/bar. Clearly will never go back and do not recommend this place. Do not go here!!More

First of all let me say I really wanted to like this place, however the consistent awful service is a real issue. To start off, our waitress, when she approach the table didn’t ask how we were doing or even smile at the very least,...and as we were waiting to eat, nobody came up to us and told us we can begin the brunch. Finally when the waitress came up to ask if we wanted anything to drink (of course we do we’re at a restaurant), I asked her how the buffet works she said just grab a plate and eat, very sarcastic and rude. When I went to grab some food there wasn’t much of a selection and for the price of the buffet this was a let down. The worst part is I brought my four year-old daughter and my seven-year-old daughter and they charged them the full amount. I asked if there’s an age limit for a kid price and they said no, so my four year-old daughter that had a little bit of fruit had to pay the full buffet price which was very pricey on Easter Sunday. Then when I got my check which was over $350, I threw the tip on top of that. As I was reviewing the check I realized after they gave me the final print out, that the gratuity was indeed added however our waitress never mentioned this to us at all. When you hand someone a check for a large group it’s a courtesy to let them know if you have indeed added the tip or not. I went back and confronted the waitress and told her you never told me the tip was already included and I paid double tip and luckily a manager heard me and offered to refund me back the additional tip. At the end of the day the service was horrible, every other buffet in town and nearby towns has children five and under are free however for this one they did not, and at the very least have a kids price different than the adult price, and for that price the food selection was just not there. Since then we have looked at branches in nearby restaurants and everyone else has a better selection at a better price, and I’m sure with a better attitude. It’s unfortunate because they have some decent food but the servers there are killing this establishment, we will never be back.More

Since we cant go out to eat we thought we'd try ordering local. The food is way over priced for what we got.

I have been here twice and both times I have gotten HORRIBLE service. This establishment does not care about their customers at all. The first time I went here last year, we had to wait over an hour for a sandwich. Tonight we went here...at 6:30, were unable to be seated because of how backed up they were. The hostess informed us we can sit at the bar if we liked. We sat at the bar and ordered our drinks while looking at the food menu. After 15 minutes of waiting to order the bartender informs us they are no longer serving any food as the kitchen is backed up and there is an hour wait for food. Disappointed (as we came here for dinner), I ask if we could at least get an appetizer to make up for the fact that we ordered alcoholic beverages and find out 15 minutes later we cannot order any food . The bartender says he will check if he could make that happen for us. 10 minutes later the bartender brings us a small portion of chips and a bowl of salsa. We finish the chips and he clears the plate. When we get the bill, I see he charged us full price for the chips and salsa. When I asked about it, his response was. "Well yeah you wanted something to eat". Dismayed, I pay the bill. A moment later the manager asks if something was wrong, I tell him what had just happened and inform him that if I had known there would be no food served at 6:30 (even though they close at 9), I would have went somewhere else. The manager responds crudely that this a restaurant and you must pay for everything that is given to you. Shocked at the HORRIBLE customer service I had just received, I walked away. DO NOT go here unless you are okay with impolite staff and long waits! A MUCH better place to go is Rubi Agave Latin Kitchen, Tequila & Whiskey Bar! It is 2 minutes away from Girl In The Park, it serves much better food, has warm-hearted staff who cares about their customers, and has a very fun ambiance! SUCH A SHAME GIRL IN THE PARK ONLY CARES ABOUT MAKING MONEY (not satisfying their customers).More

The food was good, but a bit pricey. Service was mediocre. They were incredibly inflexible with substituting a side, which I wasn't thrilled about. My particular meal came with a side of veggies and their only option was cauliflower, so I asked for fries instead...and she charged me $2 extra. Seems backwards to me. They messed up the other order - asked for pretzel bun but didn't get it, then still included the up charge on the bill.More

Went here for a girls dinner on a Friday evening. If you are looking to talk, this is not the place to go. It is very loud in there. Once the live music started, forget about carrying on a conversation. I ordered chicken tacos and...they were so spicy, I did not finish them. Their alcoholic drinks are a bit pricey.More

We went here on a Wednesday at 5 o'clock and were seated right away. They do have outdoor seating but we chose to sit inside. It took a long time for server to come to our table initially and the service over all was really...bad. There were parties who came in after us that got their food long long before we did. Our drinks werent refreshed in a timely manner at all. We ordered and it took a while for our food to come also. It ended up being very very loud in there by the time we left as the place had filled up a bit more but there was music blasting on the speakers too that wasn't there when we 1st got there. of the 4 of us 3 had the shrimp tacos and I had the chicken wok bowl. My bowl was reasonably small and was just OK. Really just OK. The other 3 had tacos and they were very very small. Each of the 3 said the rice was very bland and they didn't care for it. I couldn't believe the bill when it came. None of us took any food home because there was nothing left because the portions were small and even though we had to sodas, 2 beers and one glass of wine, the bill was $86. I find that to be extremely expensive for such small portions and terrible service. We will not be going back.More

I was going off the good yelp reviews when I picked the place, should have looked here first. Atmosphere and decor decent. Service was HORRIBLE! Our server (not gonna post her name) was snotty and acted like she’d rather be anywhere but there. After we...put our order in, she didn’t come check on us again (literally waving our arms at her and yelling her name) until she was told there was a problem. Both of our dishes came out cold. Side note...a little concerning that scratch meals come out that fast after ordering maybe 7 minutes before. I’m guessing our meals, or at least my pot pie, was microwaved or something. Tasted like a bad chicken casserole made with Campbell’s soup. Maybe the loads of shredded dark meat (in a pot pie?!) threw it off but it definitely had a metallic condensed soup taste. My aunt said the stroganoff was “ barely edible”...coming from a former culinary instructor. Wanted to like the place but it was as bad as they come. A good place to drink and maybe see some music but I’m sorry, the food and our service was terrible.More

Food was great, service acceptable, and the folks who work there were hospitable and friendly. It was SO LOUD THAT IT WAS HARD TO HEAR even the person sitting next to you. The menu is creative, absolutely try the bacon, and there are so many...choices on the menu. Too bad one has to eat fast to get out before your head explodes.More

First visit. Music very loud.The food is good but the service is very slow. When the bill came I placed a gift card and my credit card for any overage that the gift card did not cover. The waitress placed the gift card back with...the receipt but not my credit card and walked away. I could not get anyone's attention for several minutes until a waiter came by and I requested that he get our waitress because she didn't bring back my credit card. No one came. I got up from the table and found another employee and made the same request. After ten minutes or so our waitress came over from the back with the card and an attitude. She just felt that it was no big deal that she had my credit card and started saying "stop yelling at me". No one was yelling. I merely asked what happened and requested a manager. The "manager" came over after the waitress spent a few minutes speaking with the "manager".The "manager" came over with the story that the card was dropped by our table on the floor, which was a completely untrue statement, as my party all saw her come from the back with it in her hand. The other party told the manager that the card was brought out from the back and the manager just said it was a misunderstanding. Very poor management. A waitress taking that much time getting a customer their credit card back when the bill is at the table and telling her manager a different story is not a misunderstanding. The customer is always wrong in this establishment.More

We had the unfortunate experience of attending a birthday get together at The Girl in the Park In Orland Park. Not only is this place poorly equipped to handle groups larger than one person but when we tried to pay for our drinks with the...waitress she informed us that she could not do that. One person had to pay. That people were going to the bar to get drinks and then coming back to the group and she was not making any money. We inquired what the price of the drinks were so we could pay the main person paying bill and she was unable to tell us that. We understood her position but when the “manager” came over and asked what our “issue” was that his server complained that we were yelling at her it was over the top insulting. We are cash paying customers and wanted to make sure we tipped her enough. We will never step foot in that establishment again and if your are wise you will skip this experience.More
