It looks like she is aging gracefully/naturally, which just earns her so many points in my book. If she’s had work, it’s subtle and it’s good.

She’s so attuned to what her facial muscles do (e.g., how she held her mouth for Tatcher) that I doubt she even gets Botox. Or if she does, it’s clearly mild dosage. Her fine lines and crows feet are those of a beautiful woman who’s lived a life of smiles and laughter.

Idk why I’m reading this comment so much different than everyone else. I assumed you meant she’s aging naturally and looks great - this is how women should age (as opposed to pumping their face to the brim with filler, botox, etc)

If you think that "all women SHOULD age" as if their only job is image, and they have millions of dollars, and access to the best surgeons, therapies, and support... you have a rude awakening ahead of you.
I think the poster means vs overdoing the fillers rather than letting our faces do what nature intended.
I think my main issue with the work that other women get around her age (eg. Nicole Kidman who is only a couple years older - as an aside, she was super jarring in The Northman as a result) is that it gives them this very specific look that even with their smooth skin, just unintentionally makes them look over 50 by way of every other woman that age in Hollywood looking like that.
It's that super sculpted jaw, I think.
Either way assuming Gillian Anderson has work done, her plastic surgeon has smartly kept the crows feet around her eyes and dimples to keep it natural looking, and they look great on her. She seems to be taking a leaf out of Meryl Streep's book.
Otherwise it's pretty depressing how Hollywood pressures women into these permanent changes to their faces.
Getting old makes permanent changes to your face, even without pressure.

My brush with pseudo-fame. I was working on a film score some years back and the producer of the film was having drinks and Hors D'oeuvres with Gillian and one other person working on the film while they listened to the film score and were giving it thumbs up. So Gillian has heard some of my music and didn't run out of the room screaming. I'm happy.
This woman is absolutely gorgeous. I never tire of seeing her presence on the screen and her beauty haunts my deepest desires.
I would like to have a beer with her, she is down to earth and hates bras - so there is no reason not to like her. In interviews she always comes across as a no bullshit woman too. I liked they made Piper Maru the name of the episode and the boat, which is her daughters name, no coincidence.

People often hate her because she complained about things w the plot, but the same people love to lick DD's boots (and forget everything that happend DD x TXF x Fox)
I love both of them but some people really need to grow... and just because they gave life for a character doesn't mean they have to love it or everything w the series.
There was a time I liked them equally, but it’s just so clear she’s the better actor. They both were awkward as hell in the 90s with some of the shit they said in interviews, but she was so young, on a show of almost entirely male writers, directors, and actors with her own small child to take care of. Sure she’s let her feelings slip about the show, her relationship with DD, what they did to Scully in the reboot, but tbh she has some valid complaints. It still makes my blood boil that she got paid so much less than him all those years…

Honestly it’s not even that he’s getting older and wrinkly that bugs me. There’s something going on with his eyes and I can’t tell if it’s Botox or surgery or what, but I kinda wish he’d just age with grace (and date age-appropriate people).
If she has had surgery it is minimal and very well done. More likely she just got lucky with good aging genes.
There were rumors several years ago that she had surgery but she has denied it. Who knows.
She also horseback rides. The calories you burn from that are unreal.
(I eat like a starving opposum and am a completely normal weight. I also ride 3-4x a week. If I had her access to personal chefs, I’d probably be tiny too. )

Pretty sure David leaving after s7 and suing Fox was the downfall of the series. As for Gillian not being up for s12, the woman is a successful actress with a busy film schedule and Chris Carter’s nonsensical writing killed the reboot.
