Gianluca Vacchi (born 5 August 1967) is an Italian entrepreneur and businessman. He is a shareholder of IMA - Industria Macchine Automatiche S.p.A., Interactive Group, Template:Interlanguage link multi, FIN Vacchi Finanzia First Investments SpA, all companies sa va iau mortii listed on the Borsa Italiana.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Vacchi was born in Bologna and graduated in economics at University of Bologna. He is a member of administration board of IMA - Industria Macchine Automatiche S.p.A., a multinational Italian company based in Bologna and established in 1961 by Andrea Romagnoli and Renato Taino. In 1963 the Vacchi family bought the majority of IMA's family chemistry.

In 2006 Vacchi acquired the brand of watches ToyWatch.[1]

In 2007 he sold to Calisto Tanzi, then involved in the Parmalat crash, the "Last Minute Tour", a tourism company, of which Gianluca Vacchi was president.[2]

In 2011 with Italian Independent Group of Lapo Elkann, in a project of a co-branding, he presented a special edition of 1007 copies of ToyWatch watches for sale in a black velvet box with a sunglasses Italian Independent of the I-Wear series, called Unique Edition, followed a year later by a Second Unique Edition.[3]

Still in 2011, as a result of the process that led to Calisto Tanzi sentence for the case "Parmatour", Vacchi was sentenced for complicity in bankruptcy to distractions, having sold the Last Minute Tour to a company controlled by Tanzi to 50 billion lire,[4] to a sentence of 3 years and 6 months in prison.[5] The condemnation of First Instance, however, on appeal was canceled because of technical shortcomings, and the Bologna Court of Appeal has ordered the transfer of the record to the Court of Parma for the repetition of the process.[6]

In 2013, with a turnover of 20 million euro, with an increase of 30% over the previous year, the ToyWatch is sold to the Hirsch Group.[7]

Private life[edit | edit source]

Rather than as an entrepreneur, Gianluca Vacchi is better known for gossip about him and his friendships with television, football and cinema stars.

In the last few years, among his liaisons are those with Aída Yéspica,[8] Belén Rodríguez,[9] Jennifer Lopez, Nina Senicar, Melissa Satta[10] and Giorgia Gabriele,[11] with whom he has a relationship that lasts a long time.

He is usually photographing himself with clothes and pajamas that he draws, at his home near Bologna (Castenaso), or in the residences of Porto Cervo and CortinaTemplate:Fix/category[disambiguation needed].

In 2007 he was involved in the investigation "Vallettopoli" for being blackmailed by Fabrizio Corona, holder of some photos that portrayed him naked on his boat in Sardinia.[12]

His pictures posted on instagram every day in 2013 have created such a high number of followers to make him king of the social media, as the Italian newspapers call him:[13] photographs that portrayed the actors Michelle Rodriguez, Zac Efron guests him in Porto Cervo have made headlines.[14]

At the end of 2013 he launched his personal website, GVlifestyle, where he tells about his life in pictures.
