We’re roughly a week away from the release of Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed, and today we’ve got some news regarding an unexpected song being included within the game’s soundtrack, taken directly from the original 1984 film.
For those who don’t follow us on social media, this past weekend, I traveled to New York City, attending a launch event for Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed, and while getting some hands-on time with the highly anticipated release, I noticed a handful of Easter eggs that’ll no doubt make longtime fans happy, with one of those, making up today’s bit of news.
In the game, you’ll be able to choose between playing as either a member of the Ghostbusters or, instead, a Ghost, and if you choose to terrorize one of five unique maps as a slime-hucking specter, you’ll be able to visit Ghost World. In it, you’ll not only be able to choose from various entities, even customizing their appearance, but you’ll hear Mick Smiley’s classic “Magic.”
At this time, we cannot confirm if the song is featured anywhere else within the game, but given that Illfonic licensed the fan-favorite track, there’s a good chance of it likely being heard either within the story mode or end credits.
As heard within the original reveal trailer, alongside “Magic,” the game will also include Ray Parker Jr.’s unforgettable smash-hit “Ghostbusters.”
