Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum has reportedly reached a verbal agreement to join Saudi Arabian club Al-Ettifaq, marking a significant development in his professional career.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano announced the deal via Twitter, stating, “Gini Wijnaldum to Al Ettifaq, here we go! Verbal agreement in place on three year deal, PSG to receive fee in excess of €9m (£8m) package. Contracts being checked then deal completed. Wijnaldum has accepted. Steven Gerrard called him as revealed two days ago.”

The completion of the deal is pending final contract verification. Wijnaldum, a talented midfielder, has given his acceptance to this exciting opportunity. It's worth noting that Steven Gerrard, former Liverpool captain and current manager of Al-Ettifaq, personally contacted Wijnaldum, as was revealed two days ago.

Wijnaldum had spent the previous season on loan in Italy with AS Roma, under the management of Jose Mourinho. However, he has returned to his parent club, PSG, in preparation for the upcoming season. Despite interest from PSV and Ajax, two prominent Dutch clubs, Wijnaldum has opted for a new adventure in Saudi Arabia.
