We saw Lyle Lovett and Shaun Colvin. Very nice venue. Lots of restaurants around and good parking. Recommend.

While many such edifices of the late 19th have been razed, The Smith is a fine local landmark with an ambitious schedule throughout the year. Restoration should have allowed for 21st century bodies as the seats are not generous. the acoustics are reasonably good, but the decoration is a bit of a cross of a vaudeville hall and what I imagine a French bordello to be. Eclectic and interesting, but not especially beautiful

I was here with my husband for a concert and we sat in the balcony. I personally think we had the best seats in the house. We were able to clearly see the entire stage and the sound was great. It is a pretty building with comfortable seating. The ladies rest room was clean and easy to find. We also found the beverages and food to be cheaper than we had anticipated. We would go back.

We were on vacation and being a buff of architecture were looking forward to visiting the historic Opera House to see the movie The Martian. We arrived about 25 minutes before the 7pm movie time only to find the theatre locked. After a few minutes of peeking in the window a very nice lady from across the street approached my wife and I and inquired if we were there to see the movie. She said she was the ticket booth volunteer and told us it appeared that the projectionist was apparently not coming since it was ten minutes to show time and he was not there to open up. I felt bad for her as whomever is responsible failed to notify her the projectionist would be a no show. She relayed to us that it wasn't the first time this had happened. I just think it isn't right to have a website which as a tourist to the area has listed this as an area attraction and you make plans based on the Opera House website of events make plans only to discover those responsible may or may not show up. So venture at your own risk if planning on attending an Opera House event when visiting Geneva.

The SOH and the Geneva police should BAN alcohol from the rock concerts. People rowdy and crazy and drunk. They were disgusting when we wanted to enjoy George Thorogood's show. People standing in front of us, drunk, acting stupid! Shame on the SOH and the police for promoting drinking and driving too. Then we were told no pictures while Everyone else was flashing cameras for pics and even recording the concert and hardly one word from the security guards. What a joke.

While it is a lovely historic place, the worst thing they could have ever done was started holding rock & roll type shows there. I am in a Rock/Country band myself, and grew up in the 60's, but crowds for these types of shows cannot be controlled, and should not be put in a facility such as the SOH. We went to see Government Mule, and left after the 2nd song. No one (except us) sat in there seats and even filled the aisles. After putting up with not being able to see from where we sat, we then had an entire glass of beer dumped in my lap. When we tried to make our exit, it was almost impossible to get down the aisle. There is a time and place for such shows, and the SOH is not one of them. I saw Blood Sweat and Tears there back in the late 80's, and was able to see and enjoy the show just fine. The Smith Opera House should be ashamed for allowing such behavior in such a wonderful place. We will never go again, for anything!

This was our first time at the Smith Opera House. We went to a Gordon Lightfoot concert that we enjoyed. The theater is impressive in itself and the performance was good.

I went here to hear a concert of the River City Brass Band. The band sounded excellent in the great acoustic of this fine theatre. It's worth it to go to just about anything there as the architecture is so interesting. The people of Geneva are lucky to have such a nice venue.

The interior dates to the 1800's and is beautiful. Has a varied schedule of live stage productions and movies. Always a bargain. Stop in to the office when they are open and ask for a tour.
