Richard "Rick" Alan Goul of Frankfort, Indiana, left this world on May 1, 2022, at the age of 78, after a short battle with cancer. He was born in Anderson, Indiana, on July 13, 1943, to Bert and Neva Mae (Givens) Goul. He is a graduate of Lapel High School Class of 1961 in Lapel, Indiana. He went on to study at Indiana State University, obtaining his Bachelor and Masters degrees.
He taught physical education and science at Frankfort Middle School for 33 years, and he coached basketball and baseball.
He married Carol McCormick on December 28, 1968, and they went on to have three sons, Jay (Karen) Goul of Mars, Pennsylvania, Chris (Rhonda) Goul of Fairland, Indiana, and Greg (Sarah) Goul of Whiteland, Indiana. They have seven grandsons: Grayson, Ryder, Jacob, Taggart, Adam, Anderson and Ira.
Rick loved golf. He spent many hours on the golf course with his friends 'The Traveling Duffers'. He was an avid reader. He loved spending time and playing games with all his boys. He and Carol enjoyed traveling. He was a servant of the churches he attended over the years, First Christian Church of Frankfort and St. Matthew United Methodist Church of Frankfort. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #54.
He is survived by his wife, three sons, seven grandsons, three daughters-in-law, a sister, Joyce (Jim) Humphrey, and nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his parents and a nephew.
A Celebration of Life was held at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 13, 2022, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The V Foundation for Cancer Research. Memorial contributions may be left at www.gendafuneralhome.com.
