GEMMA ATKINSON, who is expecting her first child with her boyfriend Gorka Marquez, celebrated her new arrival as she enjoyed her baby shower with close family and friends yesterday but minus her Strictly beau.

Gemma Atkinson, 33, and her Strictly Come Dancing dancer boyfriend Gorka Marquez, 28, are eagerly anticipating the birth of their new family addition but the latter has spoken out about not being at the celebratory occasion. The professional dancer took to Instagram and revealed he would have been “kicked out” if he was in attendance but added he “wished he could’ve been there.” In view of his 370,000 Instagram followers, the Spanish hunk uploaded a snap of Gemma cradling her bump. He captioned the post: “HAPPY BABY SHOWER.Wish I could be there today with you @glouiseatkinson, even though it’s a girls thing and you would be kicking me out anyway.

The former Emmerdale actress replied to the heartwarming post, and said: “I love you.”
Fans also rushed to comment on the post, as one person commented: “You two are just the cutest!”
Another person said: “You look beautiful Gemma,” while a third person added: “You are there in spirit... amazing parents to be.”
Gorka was unable to attend the baby celebrations as he is currently on a UK tour with his Strictly co-stars Giovanni Pernice, 28, and Aljaž Škorjanec, 29 for the trio’s Here Comes The Boys stage show.
The dancer’s sweet post comes after Gemma took to Instagram and shared a series of video clips from her baby shower.
The Hits Radio DJ admitted she was “trying not to get emotional” ahead of the event.
In view of her one million Instagram followers, the pregnant star filmed a selfie video on the social media platform to mark the occasion and revealed her unborn child is “already spoilt” with gifts from the party.
She said: “Obviously Gorks can’t be here, he’s on tour at the minute, but yeah.”
Gemma continued: “The baby’s already spoilt with loads of gifts”, while tagging Gorka in the post to keep him updated.
The ex-Emmerdale actress then cheekily quipped: “It’s a baby shower so I can’t drink and none of the gifts are for me!”

Earlier in the clip, which was posted on Gemma’s Instagram story, the expectant mother shared her excitement for the party.
With a huge grin on her face, the blonde beauty said: “It’s come round so quick and I have no idea what’s happening.
“The girls have arranged it and I’m just turning up, so I know it will be great because they’re great.”
“All of my family are downstairs when I set off. I’m trying not to get emotional. But not long now, baby Marquez will be here.”
Gemma and Gorka are expecting their baby to arrive in July.
