About Gary Cole
Cole made his acting debut as Snoopy in a high school production of Clark Gesner’s Peanuts musical You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown while he was a student at Rolling Meadows High School. Cole studied theater at Illinois State University alongside fellow future performers Laurie Metcalf and John Malkovich.
In Chicago, Cole started his professional acting career as a stage actor in 1983. In 1985, he became a member of the Steppenwolf Theatre Company’s cast. In a previous performance, Cole portrayed Capt. Jeffrey MacDonald, the alleged Army triple killer. In addition, Cole has performed in a number of off-Broadway productions in New York City.
Cole rose to fame on television between 1988 and 1991 thanks to his portrayal of Jack “Nighthawk” Killian in the drama series Midnight Caller.
