Galen has been the greatest college experience of any that I’ve attended. It offers a very structured, professional, and calm learning environment.
Great school! I've learned so much, and the teachers really care about their students' education! My experience in college has given me a chance to sharpen my skills in my field of choice. There have been and will continue to be, many opportunities to learn more ways of improving my craft due to my time in school, which I am truly thankful for.
I waited until I was 38 to return to nursing school. Galen is a wonderful place to do this. The instructors will go above and beyond to help you with anything you need and I have met some of the best future nurses ever while here. It is very expensive however, there are grants and scholarships yes but getting approved for them has been harder than I imagined but I keep trying.
I absolutely love the staff and teachers. They want you to succeed and they will do just that. I am honored and proud to be a student at Galen college of Nursing!
Since Covid-19 all classes have been online. Students spend all day in front of computer screen watching PowerPoint lectures and videos. It is not motivating, it is a lot of pressure on the student , and difficult to pass tests due to not being engaging and hands on. It is a lot of money for tuition to self teach yourself how to be a nurse. In a time when nurses have been under more stress and pressure from this pandemic, Galen puts their students behind a computer and expects them to learn how to be a nurse.
Due to covid-19 I have to take online courses also online vsim for patients no hands on. Being online it is a lot self teaching and self taught.
So far my experience with Galen has been fairly positive. Most of the instructors are helpful and eager to teach students. The cost is high compared to the nursing program at the community college but Galen has an easier registration process.
I believe taking classes online at Galen makes it difficult to thoroughly learn the material. Nursing school requires more hands-on training that cannot be done through online classes. Most of the instructors really try to make online learning a positive experience.
