Gabe Vincent inks deal with Lakers

Vincent came up huge during Miami's 2023 run to the NBA Finals as he averaged 12.6 points per game in the playoffs.

Gabe Vincent reportedly agreed to a 3-year, $33 million deal with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Free agent guard Gabe Vincent has joined the Los Angeles Lakers on a three-year, $33 million deal, per multiple reports.

The deal became official on July 6.

Vincent emerged as a breakout star during Miami’s 2023 playoff run. After going undrafted out of UC Santa Barbara in 2018, Vincent joined the Heat in 2020 and began to earn more minutes over the following two seasons. After starting half of his 68 games in the 2023 regular season, Vincent became a full-time starter in the Eastern Conference finals where he averaged 15.8 points on 48% shooting and 51% from 3-point range.

Vincent’s 23 points on 66% shooting helped Miami win Game 2 of the 2023 NBA Finals, which was the Heat’s only win of the series. He was the team’s third leading scorer in the playoffs behind Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo.

Information from The Associated Press and NBA.com’s Brian Martin was used in this report.
