After last night’s debut of “Our Christmas Love Song” on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, sister network Hallmark Channel is joining in on the Christmas music fun with tonight’s premiere of “A Christmas Duet,” starring Hallmark newcomers Chaley Rose and Rome Flynn.

Along with this being the first Hallmark movie for each of the lead stars, it’s also the first movie to air during 2019’s Hallmark 7 Night Thanksgiving Movie Event. This one, which also stars Teryl Rothery (“Road to Christmas,” “The Good Doctor”), is a holiday romance about a former couple and music duo reconnecting during the Christmas season.

Both Rose and Flynn sing in the new Countdown to Christmas movie, but this isn’t their first experience with the world of music. Rose played Zoey Dalton on the long-running country music drama series, “Nashville,” from 2013 to 2015, and Flynn released his new song, “Brand New,” just last month.

In the acting world, fans might recognize Rose from “Nashville” and also from her guest roles on “Code Black” and “Lucifer. As for Flynn, he’s the latest “The Bold and the Beautiful” alum — like Jack Wagner, Dylan Neal, and more before him — to join the Hallmark family.

The actor’s also on ABC’s “How to Get Away with Murder” and OWN’s “The Haves and the Have Nots,” the latter of which also stars fellow Hallmark actor Aaron O’Connell (“12 Gifts of Christmas,” “With Love, Christmas”).

Here’s what Rose and Flynn’s debut Hallmark movie, which premieres on Flynn’s birthday, is all about:

“Former pop music duo and couple Averie Davis (Rose) and Jesse Collins (Flynn) are reunited over the holiday season when Jesse’s music tour brings him to the inn that Averie now owns,” the synopsis begins. “As the two spend time together preparing for the Christmas festival Averie is hosting at the inn, they rediscover long buried feelings toward one another. What’s more, Averie lights a creative spark that Jesse has been missing, and Jesse seems to complete the beautiful home Averie has created in her community.”

The synopsis continues: “While Averie balances planning for the festival and trying to impress hotel critic Phyllis Selig (Rothery), Jesse catches a glimpse of what a future with Averie would look like, possibly revealing a dream he never knew he had. As Christmas approaches, the two must decide if they are meant to live their lives solo or in harmony together.”

Directed by Catherine Cyran and written by Joey Elkins and Blake Silver, “A Christmas Duet” also features Chiara Zanni (Susie), Lane Edwards (Marshall), Mike Dopud (Dan), Brenda M. Crichlow (Patti Davis), Reese Alexander (Rob Davis), Alex Zahara (Arnold), Audrey Wise Alvarez (Emma Roth), Jaycie Dotin (Erin Roth), Jay Hindle (Mark Roth), Sarah Hayward (Miss Edith) and Andy Thompson (Mr. Vignau) in its cast.

“A Christmas Duet” premieres on Hallmark Channel on Monday at 8 p.m. EST.
