alan g Second best Bond movie after Goldfinger. Good acting. Believable plot. Beautiful Bond girl. A must see. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/10/24 Full Review DanTheMan 2 A much more engaging outing for 007 than his first, From Russia with Love has much more character, energy, and even something resembling a conventional plot; although it all unfolds in a profoundly routine Cold War thriller, with a narrative that plods along at a slow pace in desperate need of some tightening up, but its extended set pieces of great action is still just as engaging as ever. Young's direction still isn't the best but Ted Moore's photography is still as sharp as ever, it helps that Connery is a little bit more comfortable in the role while the rest of the cast is populated by much more colourful characters including the always awesome Robert Shaw in the role of henchmen Red Grant. John Barry takes up composing duties for his first of many for the franchise, rarely delivering a bad score and his score here is no exception. While I still don't think Bond has quite hit his stride yet, the exotic and colourful flamboyance from the best of its successors is still missing, From Russia with Love remains plenty of fun and establishes an indomitable template for more adventures to come. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/08/24 Full Review James B a classic bond film one of sean connerys best great fight scene kn train and cool bond girl and great acting and set pieces i highly recommend this film Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/08/24 Full Review Andy B Like most Bond films it has to be taken for what it is and the time it was filmed, but if you can do that, there's much to enjoy. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/30/24 Full Review Samu L Likely the best agent adventure in the Bond series Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/16/24 Full Review Tony S Better than Dr. No, this one has been a favorite of Bond fans. A cold war gem. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Kevin Maher Times (UK) It unfolds like a profoundly “old-fashioned” spy story, with a conspicuous Cold War milieu, a Soviet cryptography device reminiscent of the Enigma machine and, best of all, an extended sequence set aboard the Orient Express. Mar 25, 2024 Full Review Richard Roud Guardian A highly immoral film in every imaginable way but it sure is fun... Sep 29, 2021 Full Review Derek Adams Time Out The film lacks the exotic, colourful flamboyance of the best of its successors. So shoot me. Rated: 3/5 Apr 24, 2009 Full Review Sarah Cortinaz InSession Film The Cold War story is utterly fun even if the action is on the cheesy side. Apr 23, 2024 Full Review Carson Timar ButteredPopcorn It is the mix of cliches, interesting stories, good action, and pure charisma that all blend together in a way that defined a genre that would never be the same after. Rated: A- Aug 28, 2022 Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy Sean Connery's favorite Bond movie is based on John F. Kennedy's favorite Bond book, and who are we to argue with their tastes?
