Things to know before you attempt a typing speed test
Use the touch typing method: The touch typing is the method where the typist memorizes the keyboard layout. During the typing session, they only focus on the source. Typing without looking at the keyboard is a skill, and if you want to be a professional typist, you have to adopt it first.
If possible use a mechanical keyboard: A mechanical key generate a feedback after every keystroke. This feedback helps typist understand that there key impression has been registered.

Use 10 key set to type numbers and symbols: 10 keys are the separate numeric key set that placed on the right side of a full-sized keyboard. You must learn the 10 key typing to type numeric characters and making calculations quickly.
To capitalize letters use the shift key: When we use the caps-lock to capitalize the front letter of a sentence, we actually lose time, as we need to hit the caps-lock before and after the key press. Here we can use the shift key to capitalize the front letter.
Don't push yourself hard to type fast. This may reduce the accuracy rate: Accuracy must be our first priority not speed. When you practice regularly your typing speed will automatically increase.

Is this typing speed test program helps to increase typing speed?
In simple words, no. These types of programs can only check your typing speed and accuracy level. If you want to increase your typing speed, you have to practice. But of course, you can use these online typing test programs to practice typing in a systematic way.
Many of you may wonder why I should use a typing application when I have MS Word, and I can practice it. That's right; you can use any word-processing software to practice typing.
