Sinatra Crash: No Mechanical Failure

PALM SPRINGS (UPI) - The Jan. fi airplane crash that killed Dolly Sinatra, singer Frank Sinatra’s 82-year-old' mother, was not caused by a mechanical failure, federal investigators have concluded. The pattern of the plane's wreckage indicates it “flew directly into the side of the mountain,” Allan Crawford of the National Transportation Safety Board said Friday. “There didn't seem to be any fault with the airplane itself,” said Crawford, head of the board’s Southern California office.

SPRING GREETER? - Sunday, March 20, is the first official day of spring. Although Californians will note little change in the weather pattern from winter to spring this year, there are still the traditional changes in attitudes and blossoming of flowers. However. Sir Bono of White Cloud seems to be greeting the new season with the smile of a drought-stricken farmer. As further evidence of his dour attitude, Sir Bono attempted to eat the flowers following his photo session. (UPI Telephoto)
