Spent an excellent week at the Franceschi hotel, which was a perfect base to go skiing, walk around Cortina, or relax with a nice view of the mountains. The food was superb- excellent breakfast buffet (don’t miss the nutella pie!), and dinner options every night (half board). Friendly, courteous, helpful staff throughout the hotel from reception to restaurant. I travelled with a friend, felt comfortable and welcoming for families and solo travelers as well. Helped us navigate our way around the huge ski domain, which you can get to easily with a skibus stop right across the street. Icing on the cake would have been a fully functioning spa (only sauna was working, explained by apparently some residual covid restrictions). Would definitely stay again and recommend. Thank you Franceschi hotel & family for this lovely vacation. Pascal

The Franceschi Park exceeded our expectations! It is a little old fashioned hotel but in a very charming way. Excellent location at edge of town centre, within walking distance to restaurants, shops and bars. The view of the Dolomites off the room balcony was beautiful both morning and afternoon. The breakfast was fresh and had a good selection. The staff very kind and helpful. Thanks for everything see you soon!

Our tour group picked this hotel and it was a really good choice. It was our base for a day of biking, and hiking in the Dolomites. It's just a block away from the pedestrian mall and lots of good restaurants and shops. The room was comfortable and had a great outdoor sitting area. The bar was comfy, and they had a huge sofa/lounge area, where groups could gather. The breakfast buffet was abundant- and they had a great coffee machine , and didn't seem to mind my early morning runs to fuel up, before bkfst was officially open.

From the moment we arrived the staff was exceptionally helpful. The room was excellent, clean and roomy. We booked for two nights and then wanted to extend our stay and again the staff was so helpful with our request. It totally was a great ending to an amazing holiday in the Dolomites.

The front desk was rude and really not helpful. I asked for a pillow and was told I should have asked before 9pm and they could not help me as the "ladies" had gone home. The WiFi was not working and when we asked, the only answer was "sorry, it's not fault." We could not find the spa. Rooms were nice size and clean- but I don't think this is a 4 star hotel.

Response from FamigliaFranceschi, Proprietario at Franceschi Park Hotel
Responded Oct 18, 2013

This review covers the restaurant, bar and other premises because due to some room arrangement done by other people, some of us slept elsewhere, while was at Franceschi for board. The hotel is a typical family-run business, with the owner that actually highly cares about his guests. From the reception to the bar and restaurant, smiling staff welcomed us and was always available for any request. The cuisine features an excellent wide proposal, with all the typical italian foods. Usually three or four choices are available both for "primi piatti" and "secondi piatti". A soup or crème is always on menu, as well as a vegetarian choice. A wide, tasty buffet of appetizers, salads, and unique preparations is presented every day. Desserts also have many possible choices. Some extra-menu options were available if the menu still did not match our tastes. One night the owners offered an aperitif within a "gala night" accompanied by live music and followed by a dinner with the tastes of the local cuisine. Pasta is often home made and this is something almost unique. A remarkable mention goes to the dining room and bar staff. Our waitresses were just perfect, from the maître de salle to her assistants. Hint: if available, ask to have dinner in the "saletta", which is a very elegant and intimate dining room, with just a few places. Entirely wood-covered, the "saletta" featuring the style of the tyrolean houses, it is the perfect choice to have an elegant, or romantic night with friends. The only possible improvement we can suggest is about the internet connection. Although surely it is better to enjoy Cortina for the natural environment and for skiing rather than do business, a reliable wideband connection is now a must everywhere. Check this hotel. Hardly you will find a better value for your bucks.

This was my second stay, coming each time for skiing in January. Family owned and run, this place is like you dream of hotels being in the good old days. Lovely staff who are so polite and know the hotel and their jobs perfectly. Local fresh ingredients and a menu that changes daily. The 4/5 course meal every evening with half Board is worth coming here for alone. It's 5 minutes walk from the centre of town, and it's a little quieter, so you will need to go elsewhere for clubbing at night....fairly convenient to ski slopes (walkable to the cable car, bus stop outside for Socrepes). Some nice family suites for sleeping up to 5. Hope this place never changes!

We spent three nights at this well located, well run hotel. The dining area, bar and common areas are quite impressive (did not get to try to the spa), but the rooms are somewhat dated. The breakfast is excellent as is all of the food. If you stay here, definitely eat here. As others have remarked, the staff is very attentive and housekeeping is efficient and quick to respond to requests.
