What is the best foreshadowing you've seen?

Discussion

For me it's Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. One character, Adolfo Pirelli, says that Sweeney's razors are so sharp that once seen they would not soon be forgotten, later on, Adolfo confronts Sweeney and admits that he recognizes him and wants to blackmail him because of it.

Just reading a book called Three Day Road where, 100 pages into a 381 page book, the title of the book is dropped in such a way that it makes clear the “Three Day Road” is the passage between life and death and gives away both main characters are already dead. I’m not sure if that’s good foreshadowing since I’ve lost a lot of incentive to finish. I suppose I must finish, to see if my hunch is correct.

Damn, I hope it doesn't turn out that it was meant to be a twist ending.

I once tried to read a book called Chasers( I remember it as Alone but apparently that’s just the series name?) . It didn’t use any quotation marks. I made it about 10 pages of indistinguishable dialogue before I gave up and looked at reviews.

The super secret twist was that all the other characters besides the MC had died in the opening subway crash and everything else was just the MCs massive hallucination.

But clearly the author did think too hard about the capabilities of hallucinations because they could touch things and make noise that alerted the zombies.

Okay, this one’s a movie. But the into to vivarium, I think perfectly encapsulates what the movie was going to be about. I was very impressed and went back to restart it after I finished it to fully appreciate the capping.

Mistborn era 1 has incredible foreshadowing
