Upload Photos and Videos to Flickr

Once you have created your Flickr account, you can upload your photos and videos from your device.

Manual Uploading

From a Desktop Web Browser you can upload to Flickr from any page:

1. Select the Upload icon.
2. Select Choose Photos and Videos.
3. Select your items | select Open.
4. Add or edit title, description, tags, people, albums, or groups.
5. Confirm owner settings - license, privacy, content filters.
6. Select Upload.

You can find the Upload icon on any page when logged into your account.

Note: When uploading videos, video playback is constrained to the first 3 minutes for Free members and 10 minutes for Pro members.

From the iOS app:

1. Open the app | select the + icon.
2. Select the photos/videos to upload from your camera's gallery by tapping the thumbnails (or, select the Camera icon to take a new photo). Note: Selected items will be highlighted in blue.
3. Once all items have been selected | select Next.
4. Make any desired edits using the editor (optional).
5. Select the Arrow icon in the top right corner.
6. Add details to your photo: title, description, location, set privacy level, etc.
7. Select Share.

From the Android app:

1. Open the app | click on the Camera icon.
2. Select the image in the bottom left of the screen. This will take you to your Albums.
3. Find the photos/videos you want to upload, select each one | select Done.
4. Add details to your photo: title, description, location, set privacy level, etc.
5. Select Upload.

Auto-Uploadr (Pro Only)

Flickr Pro members have unlimited storage. You can safely and securely back-up your content from your desktop, laptop, or the Flickr app on your mobile device.

Desktop App

Download the Mac or Windows Uploadr and select which folders you want to back-up. (Photos only.) To learn more, see the links below:

Your items will be uploaded privately. Only you can see them unless you change the privacy setting.

Running into Issues Uploading Your Content?

Use these following steps to troubleshoot any issues that you experience:

• Desktop browser slow, freezes, crashes - Troubleshooting issues loading Flickr.com
  
• Receiving an error that your photos are invalid - The file might not be supported. Try opening the file in an image editing app and re-saving the file in a different format. More information about Upload Requirements can be found here.
• Restricted videos are not permitted for upload. If your account is set to restricted you won't be able to upload any new videos regardless of safety level until you have moderated your content and your account is set to safe.
