- BomohMount Gambier, Australia766 contributionsGood to wander around for an hour or so.
Huge quantities of vintage used clothing and typical arty craft shops with nothing worth buying.
Good for people watching. See pretend arty types before they go back to clerking on Monday.Written August 20, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jeffry bEssendon, Australia14,372 contributionsFitzroy Swimming Pool is an icon of Melbourne's inner suburbs. It's in Alexander Parade, easily accessible by public transportation. Facilities include a 50-meter outdoor heated pool, toddlers pool and recreation area, including spa. It's best-known for its significance to the post-war Italian community, with the sign "Aqua Profunda" -- deep water --written in Italian, painted in the 1950s. The Fitzroy Pool has been upgraded by the City of Yarra, it's very popular in warm weather.Written October 22, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Paul LHallam, Australia958 contributionsYour experience depends on the exhibition. I was lucky enough to pop along when they had a very interesting exhibit so my memories are quite positive. It was fun to be challenged and the staff member on duty was lovely.
That aside this place isn't exactly in an area teeming with other things to do but if you are in the area it might be worth your while to pop in - it's free after all - and check out what's happening.
There is a gift store there and food options nearby but not on site.Written June 19, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The Fitzroy Town Hall was built in in 1870s, it is a marvellous structure in Classical Victorian design. Fitzroy was one of the first suburbs built outside of the city of Melbourne. The Town Hall lingered for years, but it was rejuvenated in 2007. It's a stunning venue for formal balls, intimate dinners and grand parties.Written April 1, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Courtney CMelbourne, Australia107 contributionsThis bustling street is known for bohemian culture in Melbourne but it has many dining and nightlife activities too. There are many alternate clothing stores, gift stores, live music venues, flower shops, cafes and restaurants for travellers and locals to explore. A really great clothing store to visit is HoMie with colourful and comfortable street clothing and best of all, 100% of profits support those experiencing homelessness and hardship. While a bit on the expensive side, I’d highly recommend splurging and heading to Lune Croissanterie off Brunswick Street for a very industrial yet comfortable café. The line may be long but that just shows how great the pastries here are. I grabbed myself a Lemon Curd Cruffin and the pastry simply melts in your mouth.Written July 26, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - The Wandering ReviewerMelbourne, Australia9,821 contributionsFell in love with this place because I get a little overwhelmed by pretentious galleries.
Thisi place is just not that. It's easy to just walk in off the street and check out what's going on, latest exhibition, local artists and more. My friend who is a professional artists found this place charming, well laid out and the lighting / atmosphere engaging. Although there was no artwork that grabbed me, it's one of those places I will not return time and time again to see what evolves and changes.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Wheelchair friendly (not sure about how to get upstairs). Kid friendly. Toilets clean.Written March 26, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
