Elizabeth A. Hamilton
<p>Elizabeth Ann "Rosie" Hamilton, 45, of Crown Point, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2023 at St. Anthony Hospital in Crown Point.</p><p><br></p><p>She was born (first!) on June 26, 1977 in Cincinnati, OH to the late William David "The Bear" and Claudia Lynn (Olson) Hamilton. Rosie graduated from Eisenhower High School in Decatur, IL with the class of 1995.<br></p><p><br></p><p>She was a member of and reenactor with the 42nd Royal Highland Regiment all her life. Watching her mom sew for the 42nd inspired Rose. She became a talented seamstress for her own company Maid of Norway. Prior to that, she enjoyed being a carny on several occasions.<br></p><p><br></p><p>Rosie enjoyed tormenting her brother from a young age. She found love chasing her nieces and nephews, and sharing cotton candy with 'her' kids. She lived for music by the camp fire. Many of her favorite memories were of trips to Scotland and Canada. She never said no to an adventure, or a drink with friends or strangers. She found warmth in a home cooked, gourmet meal with Greg.<br></p><p><br></p><p>Surviving is her best friend and fiancé, Greg Houser of Crown Point, her twin brother, William (Holly) Hamilton of Lafayette, her nieces and nephews: Samuel, Liam, Willow, Ezra, Christopher, and William David "Bear" II and many friends who were extended family that will miss her dearly.<br></p><p><br></p><p>A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023 from 3-5 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Chapel, Lafayette with a service following at 5 p.m.<br></p><p><br></p><p>Rose had requested no flowers, stating the cats and kids will just eat them. Instead, she requested all Memorial Contributions be made to the Forty-Second Royal Highland Regiment of Foot, Grenadier Co'y (42nd RHR). Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
