We want to make sure FIFA and FIFA Ultimate Team stay fair and fun for everyone. Here are some quick tips and rules for playing in a fair, fun, and secure way.

Check out our article on playing by the EA rules.

These rules are in place to keep things fair for everyone who plays FIFA.

We believe in the power of positive play. Being part of a gaming community should be positive, fun, fair, and safe for all. Our Positive Play Charter is at the heart of our rules.

If you break the rules, we reserve the right to:

  • remove your account from the Leaderboards
  • remove your FUT Coins
  • delete your FUT Club
  • temporarily or permanently ban your account from FIFA online play, which means you’ll lose access to every mode where you connect to our servers, including FUT, FIFA Pro Clubs, and VOLTA
  • ban your account from your current FIFA game
  • ban your account from all FIFA games
  • ban you from all EA games
  • suspend your console from playing FIFA online modes for a period of time
  • restrict your access to the FUT Transfer Market
  • restrict your access or in-game privileges in other ways.

These actions are applied to the EA Account you use to play FIFA, and may affect your gaming experience on multiple platforms that use the same account.

Here are some rules to follow to make playing FIFA a positive, fun, and fair experience for all players:

1. Don't distribute Coins

Coin distribution disrupts the safe buying and selling environment that legitimate players are trying to use to get the players they need for their Ultimate Team.

It breaks our rules if you:

  • send FUT Coins to another player, even to a friend
  • buy or sell Items well above or below their average FUT Coin price for the purpose of transferring Coins
  • offer or accept FUT Coin giveaways, for example, in exchange for subscribing
  • have multiple accounts and funnel FUT Coins and Items into your main account.

2. Don't buy or sell Coins

Buying or selling FUT Coins can result in an unfair increase in prices of Items on the FUT Transfer Market.

It’s also against our rules to buy “mule” accounts and perform comfort trades.

If you’re using the FUT Transfer Market to distribute FUT Coins or if you promote buying and selling FUT Coins in any of our games or forums, we may need to take action on your account.

Here are a few ways to earn FUT Coins fairly.

  • Playing matches in Ultimate Team.
  • Earning rewards in modes like Rivals and Squad Battles.
  • Selling Items for a fair price on the Transfer Market.

Read more about staying safe with FUT Coins in our article and avoid cyber threats, like phishing.

3. Use only official FUT apps and unmodified platforms

You can only access FIFA, FIFA Ultimate Team, and our FIFA servers using an official version of EA SPORTS FIFA, an unmodified platform, or the official FUT Web and FUT Companion Apps to avoid breaking our rules.

An official version of EA SPORTS FIFA is one that you bought from us or an authorized retailer.

An unmodified platform is either:

  • a console that no one has adjusted or added anything to since it was purchased from an authorized retailer, or
  • a PC that doesn’t have any software running to modify the game or the game’s interactions with EA.

It also breaks our rules if you share your credentials with someone who is using a modified platform. This also puts your account at risk of cyber threats.

4. Don't farm Coins

Coin farming is when you get Coins illegitimately, either by using bots in the FUT Transfer Market or by tricking the game into thinking you’re playing matches when you aren’t.

Using any sort of bot or disconnection method breaks the rules, as it gives you an unfair advantage and hurts the experience for you and other players.

5. Don't make false claims

Making a false claim to EA Advisors or any other EA representative is against our gameplay rules.

If, for example, you report that you've lost an Item, but you didn't lose it or never had it to begin with, that's a false claim.

We take false claims very seriously, so we warn everyone who contacts us for missing Items about our false claims policy to help keep a fun, safe, and secure environment for you and all players.

If you make a false claim to us, we may need to take action on your account.

6. Don't hack other players' accounts

Accessing another player’s account is completely against the rules.

If you are reported as hacking into someone’s account, we’ll take action on your account.

7. Don't cheat

In-game cheating isn’t fair play and hurts the experience for other players.

Cheating includes, but isn’t limited to:

  • using external tools
  • performing in-game exploits
  • abusing glitches or bugs
  • performing, using, buying, or selling match collusion, matchmaking manipulation, or win manipulation services.

We’ll never ask for any of your account passwords. That includes your passwords for your EA Account, your Xbox Live gamertag, your PlayStation™ Network online ID, or your Nintendo Network ID. If anyone tries to get that information from you, know that it’s not us. Don’t give your passwords out to anyone, ever.

You can report players for breaking any of the above rules right here on EA Help:

  1. Go to Report players for cheating, abuse, and harassment.
  2. Choose the available option to contact us.
  3. Include as much detail about the violation as you can.
  4. Select Send and we’ll take it from there.

Section 6 of the EA User Agreement expects that players don’t:

  • improperly use in-game support or complaint buttons
  • make false reports to EA staff.

You can review our complete rules by checking out the EA User Agreement.

You can also check out the FIFA YouTube channel to find ways to improve how you play.
